He has disappeared into Halo 4 land. I got him the special 360 package as an early Christmas gift. There may be a tad bit of buyers remorse in that it has reduced me to the junky laptop for the most part. However, I am loving the time it frees me up during the day to focus on my writing. I've even been able to rediscover mylot with my extra time.
How many others have lost their significant other to a video game system? I have to admit to being a gamer myself but not quite to that extent. Im just glad that hes happy and that I am inventive enough not to let it drag me down.

Good for you that you can be happy when your husband is burning time obsessing over a new game! After all, I guess we all obsess over something having to do with technology, a time or two, ourselves more than likely!

This is true. I, myself, have been known to obsess over things a time or two. It tends to happen when you least expect it. Right now I am too busy working to be obsessed too much about any one thing. Although, mylot, Pinterest and Hubpages are becoming a major part of my life.

What can I say---men and their toys! Once we're into it, we're stuck until the next chapter (if it's a book), next level (if it's a game), or the next commercial break (if it's a sporting event on TV). Obviously, your husband is very happy with your Christmas gift!
It's good that it doesn't bother you that much. Unfortunately, I don't think the lack of communication will do your marriage any good.

This is very true of the male mentality. Its the need to be the alpha male so to speak. lol.. Leader of the pack. We communicate outside of the technical world. There are a couple of hours at the end of the day where we snuggle together and watch a movie or some WWE wrestling. We also talk throughout the day. :)

No gamers here, but hubby likes to be next to me and share what he reads or read what is on my screen.
Come discover us again, myLot is back.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well that is good to know that u have been keeping yourself busy on this site and by playing videos games in spite of such circumstances and i think getting involved in too much of video games is a pure wastage of time and energy. I think spending more time on this site for me is far beneficial than spending time on video games. Well it is good that u are not too much into this gaming.
What say?

Oh but I am. I can spend hours on a game myself on any given day but I try to balance it with other things as well. Games are designed to hook you and get you to spend that time with it. I've been there so I understand the draw. Its been a herculean effort at times to keep from getting sucked back into it all once more!

I have a friend whose her husband is like yours. But good thing she is so understanding and that she can do her things too. They understand each other and she is just let her hubby. She said at least her hubby is at home with her not with someone else elsewhere.

This is very true. I have the same set of feelings about it. The only source of contention is sometimes we squabble over the tv. The desktop is hooked into it and runs much better than the laptop so on occasion I like to use it instead. Other than that Im glad he has something else to occupy his time.

My good friend is lost somewhere in Nuketown in Black Ops 2. He finally got a PS3 after having to sell his last one for bail money and the first two games he bought were Black Ops and Black Ops 2. He spent a few hundred on these extra maps and when he discovered Nuketown, that's where he has been..lol..his gf is happy so I guess it's ok

Ill admit I was like that with Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, and even though she plays with me sometimes it would be a little too much. It was just thrill of competition, trash talking and backing it up. Wised up eventually though. Now I play but I try not to let it interfere with my personal life.
