This month several news reported that young people were dead or injured after long-distance race. From my own experience, I think to young people 1000 and 5000 is not a big problem for their body. But I do not like keeping healthy by them.
My favorite way to keep fit is logging, yoga and taiji. I think intense exercise will hurt some parts of my body while slow exercise can burn more energy and practice the function of the body.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well in my opinion, running long distances requires a lot of practice and experience and not every one can run long distance races. Hence it is advisable for a general human being to go for normal exercises like gyming, yoga, running and walking. These are good for health and are not strenuous at all. One should not push his or her limits to such a level.
What say?

To complete a 5000 meter race, practice is needed. Without suitable practice, people usually can not make it at first time. To many people long-distance race is a boring action, it could not attract people's interesting to it.
To many young people, they have good bodies, but they do not have enough practice for the race.
