After Hurricane Rita, there were lots of dogs that needed homes in shelters in our area. We adopted a yellow lab. We named him Buccaneer, and he was a good friend. He passed away a few weeks ago. Our grandson who lives with us wanted a new buddy. So we went to the shelter and picked out a Shih Tzu mix. Her name is Rigley. I think we have another winner!

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well i feel sorry for those animals who lost their shelter and they are the ones who are in need of our love care and affection. I feel so good that u adopted a dog during such a condition and i know u must be devastated after its demise and now since u have got a new pet, i hope its presence will overcome the pain due to the loss of your previous pet. U are really doing good job by adopting the pets.
What say?

We feel we are doing good by making the adoptions, but we know we are blessed by the affection and loyalty of the pets!
