Its so xmas here in Mexico.
Lights, kids, xmas tree, gifts.
Music is on all the time here.
Im so ready for santa to come see all the kids here and there.
I also cant wait for it to be over.
I will spend this xmas all alone here.
Ive never, ever done that before.
My son, dad and sisters have had to stay in usa this year.
The plane ticket prices are very high.
So, i will keep my cafe open all day xmas eve and day. And hope I can get through the day.
Xmas was the best day for my mom, I miss here.

I am sorry you cannot be with your family for Christmas. I feel here is not as 'christmasy' as when I lived in the States. There are only few houses with lights on my street, and I miss seeing the whole street full of Christmas lights as I used to see in Sierra Madre, California. On top of that, they say it is going to be scorching hot on Christmas day; something like 40C which would be around 100+F... I can't really get used to have this Christmas and summer time together...

Mexico sounds amazing at this time of year. Its true that airline prices are ridiculous. They seem to get worse and worse every year. Im sorry you cannot be with your family. Try to find something to celebrate and enjoy the day.

yes it is.. not sure why prices are so high. They paid 849.00 round trip last year. This year its 1499.00. They tried to buy tickets at same time as last year. Merry xmas....

hi mariperalta.
here in the philippines, the holiday season starts on october 1st. it is joked that the longest holiday season is here in the philippines as it lasts until january the next year. lol!!!
in the malls and in the streets, christmas decorations are all around. even government and private buildings are decorated. there are also light and sound shows at the parks across the country. christmas carols are played in the radio stations and one can never escape the christmas spirit.
i'm sure your son, dad, and sisters will miss you as well on christmas. perhaps next christmas, you can go visit and spend christmas with them in the states.
hope all is well with you this december 25.
cheers!!!

same here in manila. christmas eve families get together and hear mass and then afterwards wait til 12 midnight to share a feast which we call noche buena and then they proceed with the gift giving. kids hang socks on christmas eve as well expecting it to be filled with gifts and candies when they wake up on christmas day.
anyway, last night was christmas eve and i did nothing special. spent a good two hours helping my mom in her store and then at 8pm, i called my daughter to greet her good night. slept at around 8:30pm and all throughout the night, i was receiving text messages from friends and well-wishers so didn't sleep fully. today is christmas here in manila and i decided to go to work instead. later on in the afternoon, relatives from both my mom and dad's sides will be going to the house to share a lunch buffet and snacks. my daughter will be there as well. should be a good one. after all, christmas is spending quality time with family, friends, and loved ones!
cheers and happy mylotting maria!!!!

Well, I know that christmas and new year are over now. But I had christmas eve dinner with my family and christmas day dinner with my girl friends family. It was a good holiday I have to say. Better then the last few years. And my kids loved everything they got. It must be hard not being with family this time of year. But I knew you would be alright. I just hope that you were somewhat happy. Now that the new year has begun lets hope this one will be better then last year.

Hi,
I will be spending my Christmas alone too. I am from the Philippines and my family, mother and brothers are in the USA. We have not seen each other personally for 5 years now. I'm used to spend my Christmas with friends and other relatives. I know you can get through the day, just keep in touch with them. Merry Christmas to you. Cheers!

I wish you didn't have to be alone on Christmas. Everyone will be gone, even your son? No one should be alone at Christmas. You can come and visit us on Christmas, well we live in the USA, so it might be a little far, but I can promise you that I will pop in and say "hi" to you on Christmas day. You have friends there that will be able to spend the day with you? Even a couple of hours with someone that might frequent the cafe? Where in the USA is your family? It's sad they will be in the USA and you are down there in Mexico.

You own your own cafe? I'm so sorry your mom won't be there with you this year and that you will be spending it alone and can't afford the plane ticket. That is not the best way to spend Christmas. If I were there I would spend it with you and have some stress free fun some how. I am here with alot of stress and not alone. I'm not sure which is worse. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
