How Can We Choose a Different Response to be the 'Best Response'?

Because--on others discussions--I won't respond to others' responses unless either 1) I happen to see them (generally if they are the first responses) or 2) if they are the 'Best Response.'
But what if you choose a 'Best Response' but another response ends up being better?

Well..there is no way to change it and to be honest, if I went ahead and chose, I wouldn't disrespect someone and take it back. I would definitely thank the person that I felt like would have got the BR if I hadn't chose it but no..I wouldn't change it even if I had the option.

Maybe I'm just not self-involved enough to appreciate what makes others feel good as anything but temporary ... or something like that, or not (just babbling off the top of my head )

So why not make each discussion the source of-many momentary happinesses continually instead of -just one momentary happiness long ago?

I don't think there is a way you can ever choose another response here for your Best Response once you have chosen one. So that is why unless something really strikes home I wait until I have responded and checked out all responses before choosing someone. And I always wait a while before choosing one to consider giving time to everyone who might want to consider responding.

Although if someone adds a response that is the way I want the discussion to go, I will sometimes BR that one in hopes that other responders will add to IT (as 'resolving' puts a link that leads from the top of the page directly to their response).

hi mythociate You cannot as yo u can only choose one best response. so wait a week to get as many responses as you can then carefully read all then weigh them and choose the best one. The week wait allows you to get more readers and thus more r e spoonses.

I usually wait 4 weeks.
But I'm asking then, why CAN'T we pick & re-pick? Kinda like when a WWE wrestler wins the championship, he's not champion 'forever'; but he has to win-again every so-often to retain his championship.
But why can't there be any challengeers for a myLot-champion?
