Cricket is just a sport for others but it's life, its passion, its a relegion to me. During my Exam days when my mother insisted me to study i would make an excuse of going to my friend's home for group study infact i would go to play a cricket match. I would not sleep the whole night just to watch a cricket match if its comming late night even if it is a test match. I cry when my favourite team loose a match. My relatives make fun of me that u cry for a cricket match but i dont care. Cant control my emotions. I always wanted to become a cricketer but education always came in my way and even my Parents opposed it but my love for cricket will never die.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well i am glad to know about your love and passion for cricket and that is your greatness that u did not fight against anyone to pursue your career in cricket. Well most importantly i can see your passion in cricket when u lied your family to watch cricket match at your friend's place and that is really commendable. I would have loved to see you on cricket pitch but still i hope the passion of cricket in your stays forever.
What say?

Thanks a lot Friend. Yes as i mentioned my love for cricket will never die. I dreamed many a times that i am standing on a cricket pitch facing a baller in front of a packed crowd but when i opened my eyes i found my self in front of a pile of books and many times my eyes filled up with tears but thats how it goes.

Your passion for cricket is adorable. It is a game to be collectively performed by entire team. You should not sacrifice your time at the cost of watching cricket leaving your studies.Cricket may give pleasure but cannot give you education.Instead your academic career will be disturbed. One more thing is if you are watching the advancements in cricket, lot of scams are being seen in the cricket wherein the cricket match is sacrificed by way of sledging, match fixing etc by some players. We the Spectators are being made fools by match fixing and other ways. Also some vested interests within the team are also trying to loose the match just to defame others in the team which is seen quite clearly in the recent advancements in cricket. What I suggest is if one ever has so much passion towards cricket, one can play cricket and give their best and enjoy cricket.Instead watching someone playing cricket and becoming emotional out of fake result involving intentional throwing away matches leaves us in a state of mental agony and unnecsssary disappointment etc.It is better to play cricket and enjoy cricket rather than watching and becoming emotional at times of loosing any match.

You have taken me back in the memory lane when I was in Std. 6. I still remember I was the 1992 WC and from then I have been following cricket closely. I do not have memories of watching cricket before that. I was so obsessed with the sport that I behaved in the same way as you - could find it difficult sleeping. I still have clear memories that the WC was hosted by England then and the match started at 1.55 AM. As a child, waking up at that time was like waking up in the middle of the night all alone. I was not prohibited from watching cricket even at that time, but it was difficult waking up. But I did manage to watch as much cricket as I could.
But when I was in 10th it was the height of my obsession. The board exams and the 1996 WC collided and it was difficult keeping away from cricket. However, all went nicely as I managed both my studies and the WC.
I thank you for this discussion and taking me to the good old days of cricket when it was free of match fixing.

Hi rldchampions.
You look like a very passionate person. So didn't you get a chance to play cricket for your school team in your school days or for your college team. If everyone felt that you play good then it would have given you some credibility. And that might have been helpful in persuading them. Have you seen the movie called "Iqbaal". If not, I strongly recommend you to watch it. Anyways have a nice day ...
