Why Am I Still on the internet?

Time after time, I tell myself that I am not going to spend hours on the internet, yet I always find myself barely awake and typing away. This is at night when I have nothing else to do and it's like a form of relaxation for me. Could this be an addiction?

I am usually into internet as everyday as I could but I don't think it is counted to addiction... For me, I love internet surfing for it relaxes me and more often because I am researching some facts to read on... I love using net for adding new things to be learned... Internet can make us smart!

yes in reality it could be an addiction but you know nowadays you can do practically all using the internet and related nets so in many cases we can pass much time on the net because there are many things to do and propably you would like do it but in many cases time is not enough..

In my opinion it is normal if feeling bore and want to find something to make us relax or ease boredom. Even me I used the internet daily and I am bored if I can't access the internet because this the way I can make a living.
Addiction using the internet is a waste of time. Like accessing the internet without any benefit just for games or fun.

Yes I agree with you. We know that how the Internet is useful in our life. Like our other basic need such as food, air, water and shelter, Internet has become our basic need of life. At present condition we can't do any work without Internet. It provides unlimited advantages to our life. That's why we spend a lot of time on Internet. I don't think, this could be an addiction.

You will be the one who knows the answer. In my own part, I do use the internet everyday though I not consider it as an addiction. I am using such because I am doing several online jobs and also opening my Facebook accounts so as to be connected with my friends and affiliates. Additionally, I do blogging online which is a great thing to do. I love also watching youtube videos. This is my very own way of relaxing.

I use the Internet a lot, but I do not see it as an addiction. For me, an addiction is based upon a person's behavior. If their behavior is influenced by the activity to form an unhealthy dependence on it, then you might be addicted. If withdrawal of the activity from any period of time creates severe trauma to a person, then they might need to ask for professional help. Addictions can slowly overtake your life and might change your behavior for the worst. So basically if you react violently on a physical or psychological level after discontinuing the use of the Internet, then you might be facing a form of addiction.

I do this all the time too! Every night I think, I'm just going to check my e-mails and call it a night. Then I check my e-mails, see a notification from myLot and 3 hours later my head drops on my computer. I quickly wake back up, just to go right back to it. I need some sleep!!!
This is incredibly relaxing for me, helps me learn about a lot of different things, and is a good way for me to find out about other cultures. No, no. Not an addiction. Then I would have to stop!

Actually when your other daily routines and jobs are affected by your internet timing then you are addicted to internet otherwise it is fine. And talking about your night hours, a person must sleep for 6 to 7 hours daily.
