Last night, my cousin from other country ask me to do a cross stitch for her home. I am so happy about it that I will be able to do my craft again! :)
It had been months since I had stopped cross stitching. I wasn't be able to finish yet a pattern that a good friend and fellow myLotter gave me. That is because I did studied and get certificate on English course.
I am still thinking what pattern to do for her for her bedroom and receiving/sala of their house. Any suggestions? What crafts do you do if you have?

During my highschool and college days, I used to make cross stiches too. Yes a male doingn this stuff. I used to stop because of being busy at school. When I got a chance to made another one, I made house in the middle of garden entitled "Tatched House" which is diplayed in our living room now as well as a portrait of our "wedding kiss". During our wedding, me and my wife do simple designs for our souvenirs too.
I stopped this crafting for now since we are engaged in an online selling of baby stuffs and crocheted items.
I think one of a good design is a graden or a protrait of your friend.

wow that's really good. I don't think male should not do all this. They can i have seen my father helping my mother while doing all the stuff from my childhood. many males are interested in all these and are better than females.

It reminds me of my mother, she had been learning how to make sort of crafts.till now ,she just did nothing for my family ,even a slipper.
Only I remember she knitted sweaters for each member of family, but we still love her, haha.
Asdomencil,you are intelligent.

hi bluespygirl
I love cross stitching too, and so far I've finished only one design it's a bouquet of roses. I've started many designs already but never got to finish because I had a problem with my left eye. Now it's okay I can go back to stitching again.
I'm fond of floral and nature designs it's good for bedrooms and living rooms too

What an coincidence. I got a problem with my left eye too that is why I stopped stitching. But I have to start again because my cousin is asking for me to make for her home and bedroom.
I'll take note of floral and nature.. Thanks for your response.

I am a frustrated professional writer. On the second thought, I consider myself still a writer since I am doing writing stuff here in myLot. What do you think Professor?
Happy Holidays!

Take in consideration of what color theme is in her bedroom. And what type of bedding she has etc.
Sometimes all this will give you a hint of type of item to do such as floral, ocean, even a favorite pet.
Just look around your cousin and her home and you will be able to find something that she loves.
Sounds like fun good luck with it.

Thanks for the advice sister.
My cousin lives in the another country but I had a chance to "see" her home through her facebook photos. She will be here in the Philippines on March so I hope I'll have three finished material for her.
I am already finishing the first one now which is a cross. It is just 8" x 11". The other one that I am thinking to stitch for her is an angel (because she asked for an angel) and the third one that I am thinking is an ocean. If I will still have a time, I will make another one. We only see each other every five years so I will give her many cross stitch. It will be fun stitching ofcourse! This is extra special because she had asked for me to make for her home. That means I am remembered. I feel special. :)

I started doing cross-stitch 20 over years ago and stopped for quite a long time. I recently started cross-stitching again and now my sister and I have our own online cross-stitch shop which we started not long ago.
I think a scenery cross-stitch would be nice for her to hang in her bedroom.

I was a cross stitch addict more than 10 years ago... a started with a simple horse pattern then shifted to the huge angel designs... i finished a lot but only one hangs on the wall in my home... i gave the others to friends... and the angel cross stitch were bought by the school librarian where I taught... when she migrated to the US... she took them with her... and until now... she is very grateful that i sold her those work of art...
I don't know if i will be able to cross stitch again... i am afraid that my son would get hold of the needles and hurt himself... so maybe when he is a little bit older...

I love handcrafts! It is so personal, special and it seems to me that it is done with love and affection. I love cross stitching but sadly, I don't have a finish product for myself now because most of my works are given to my friends and family.
Thanks for your response. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

The cross stitching is very interesting but I found that I have no gift in this aspect. I am awkward to use the needle to do the cross stitching. But my mom is very good at it. She even made many big cross stitching pieces and that's so amazing. I think doing the cross stitching can practise your patience. I like making the polymer clay, cooking or painting.

Wow! I haven't worked on big projects yet. That indeed is amazing. I love handmade products.
I wish to try polymer clay soon. Is it the same as pottery?

It's actually been years since I've cross stitched and I really don't know that I would have the patience to be able to do it now because of the fact that I seldom get time to do any crafting without being disturbed at least once or twice an hour. However, I do still love to craft and the thing that I've been focusing the majority of my energy on has been crocheting. That said, I'm getting interested in beading and I'm hoping that I will be able to start making some beaded jewelry after the first of the year.
