Hi friends,
The year is about end and its time for us to make resolutions / targets/ some dreams for the new year.
During this year, the natural calamities did make our off-mood and we wished the criminals to get punished for innumerable crimes.
With all the ups and downs, for me this year has been an eventful year and of course
I too had some low-key days.
How was/is it for you? Would like you to share your journey of 2012 so far? Did it make you happy/ feel sad/ made upset or it was all in a mix???
Happy lotting to everyone!

Hi Viju
I always expected the year to be great. Numerologically, it had to be good for me. my birthday is 23 = 2+3=5 and so is 2012=2+0+1+2=5. And that kept me excited all throughout. I was quite motivated and today, when I look back, I would say, it has been quite a good year for me, despite the ups and downs it brought for me.
I do wish the same continues for me even the coming year.

2012 has been a mix of good and sad things. It was the year when I lost my maternal grandmother and that is the worst thing that happened this year, because her and I used to have a very close relationship and I am going to miss her a lot. My father also experienced quite a lot of health problems this year. First his eye operation went wrong and then he started to get kidney problems. Our family has been very worried about him this year and we still are. That was the bad things. The best thing that happened this year was our trip to South East Asia. We had been planning that trip and saving up for it for more than one year and it was amazing to visit the places in person. We enjoyed the trip very, very much and we have many wonderful memories from the trip.

I feel the same way about my grandmother. We spent a lot of time together when I was a child and she has taught a lot for instance small tips that I still use in my daily life. It is great to have those things from our grandmothers. Even though your kinds never met your grandmother you can still share those things with them like you do with that special dish that you mentioned. I don't have children yet, but I know that I am going to tell them about my grandmother if I get children.
I don't think that I will be able to travel in the near future, because we have spent a big part of our savings on the trip to Asia this year, but one day I want to visit India. That has been one of my dreams for a long time

Hi,
I think I'm really to have her as my grandmother as compared to the modern grandma. Like my Mother in law - though she's a nice lady and a lovable mil, i still feel she could spent more time with her grand kids and give these FB kids some good moral teaching of life's experiences. However, she's a hectic schedule and we only meet occasionally inspite of living in the same city.
I do understand about international travel expenses. I too haven't so far got any chance to visit any country outside India.
Wishing you a Merry X Mas and a very happy & grt 2013.

2nd Jan, 2012 was very good for me. I am nervous about drought conditions. I am also unhappy about violence in middle east, and Assam, and many parts of the world. I am however, happy because I got an opportunity to go to Tirupati, which is something I have been wanting to do since ages ago. So for me ...2012 has been something of a mixed bag.

Hi,
yes, we are concerned for the unnatural happennings and the henious crimes like the Delhi gangrape etc... However, i am happy on a personal note you could visit Tirupati - its a life time wish of me & my husband and we never know when we could plan it out. Wish we all have a blessed and less worried 2013.
Sid - I'm happy if someone sort out the legal issues quickly as you know in our place it is a long run program, though i'm not aware of vandana's legal issues.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well this year has been a mixed year for me as i have seen both highs and lows this year and to be very honest i have got to learn so many things from them which is very important for me.
I know every day is a learning experience and every day wont be the same for me. I expect good things to happen with me and with other people as well so that we all live happily and peace is maintained every where.
What say?

Indeed. I think there would always be good and bad not only in a year but in your day. I think it's what makes life exciting. I am as equally happy that I got to learn about life through my ups and downs this year too.

Hi viju!
It was year of ups and down. I had an occasion to visit Kerala and spend few days in the God's own land and we had fascinating experience over there. With the passage of the year I've completed one year in my new office and it has been a learning experience.

Hi Dpk,
Good to see you here. Yes I remember about the Kerala trip. One year in the new office and new role i.e. you had an opportunity to work with new people too. Hey, I missed meeting you at Bhopal is a sad story. But hope in the coming year I’ll plan something in such a way that I meet few mylot friends with or without their families. I know it is a difficult task but I wish my friends here too would like to meet me.

Hi Viju,
There were so many good things in the passing year. The most interesting was I met my elder sister after 4 long years. She is living in another country and come for a vacation on her daughter’s school closes that time my vacation gets over. So could not meet her long time. This year we visited (I visited second time) same time for attending one marriage.
There are some other achievements in the year. If I count positive things are more in number.

Not a single year in my life, not weven when I was small, has been pure bliss. And I thank life for that, because I can be aware of happy times when they come. This year`s best thing is that my oncologist pronounced my lymphoma in remission. It does not mean a cure, but it means that I can make short term and even middle term proyects. THe saddest part is that I have had troubles with one of my grandsons. I don`t know when and if it will be mended. I am looking forward for next year.

Hi Viju,
This year was not good for me as my wife had a knee surgery this year as she fell and broke her knee. We all had to suffer for it for whole 3 months as she was on complete rest for 3 months and I had done a lot in those days from house hold work to going to office really that was very tough time for me but its OK as its life and we can't expect only happiness in it.

HI Sj
OMG! Three months of rest must have made you with little rest for yourself. I do understand how hectic it was for you all but the good part is she recovered with all your support. I appreciate you for doing lot of household work in addition to the office tensions. Good luck friend for the coming year.
Merry X Mas & a happy 2013 to you all. How's the juniors doing?

With the school shooting that recently happened, it is tragic just at the end of the year. It is a mixture of different things. Can't say it has been my best year but it hasn't been my worse year either. I hope that next year, I can do something meaningful, or more so than in 2012.
