Sometimes I just used to sleep with my father and during my sleep at night my father used to switch to meet some needs. It really turns out as an disturbance for me and to my sleep and it makes me to wake from the sleep.
. Does light creates a disturbance to you ?
. How do you react at it ?
. How do you adjust with it ?
I just used to put the pillow above my head and this is how I adjust with it.

It does disturb me. During the day I use an eye shade while sleeping. You can use that may be in the night too.

Sometimes due to some reason lights are switched on during my sleep. During those time I just used to put the pillow above my head and this is how I adjust with it. Sometimes If I am very tired I just sleep. It doesn't matter there is sound or light around me

That's good if you can sleep with the lights on.

Light doesn't affect me at all. But what is funny is my sister is all grown up now and she's still afraid to sleep with the light off.

At my childhood days i was afraid of darkness and i just used to switch on the light while i sleep but i am not worried of it. I just used to turn of the light while i sleep, which is more comfortable to me.

When I was still single, I do turn off the lights before going to bed. I am not also comfortable going to sleep with lights on. But my husband, he is afraid of dark. We have two lights in our bedroom, one on top of the study table and the other, on left top of our bed. Whenever we go to sleep, I would just let the light on the study table on so that the room would still be comfortable for my husband. I am okay with that set up I can sleep without disturbance.

I cannot sleep with light at all. Whenever it's open, my eyes will stay open. I cannot sleep without pillow also. If you are a teen, i suggest you to do not use it, cause you will not grow up like you suppose to. I hate light and noises when i am sleeping.

In order to be able to sleep, it has to be pitch black for me, I cannot sleep with any light on, or any light showing through, so I always make sure my curtains are closed tight at night. My light doesn't have a dimmer switch, some do, so you can turn the lights down real low dependent on your preference.

Hello Wonderboy
In past my sleep never got affected by such light. But these days I feel little uncomfortable when light starts during my sleep. But still its not feel that uncomfortable that I can't sleep. I can easily sleep again without doing anything extra or adjusting. So no need to react either. I guess I am lucky that I can have good sleep anytime anywhere in any condition.

It all depends on habit formation. If anybody form the habit of sleeping under light fine, if you form the habit to switching off lights to sleep you will become used to it. Yours reaction is you become irritated once it is switched on. You can decide to move away from that place or you adjust to sleeping with lights on, simple.

Absolutely yes. I cannot sleep with the lights on most of the times. I was used to it already that lights should be switched off. But, when I am very tired, even though it is lights on, I think I could still do sleep.

I was very busy yesterday and i was very tired. May be the tiredness is what made me to sleep yesterday even when the light is on. I have to see it today too, whether i am possible to sleep or not when the lights are on.

Hi friend, we use night lamp at the sleep time, so i don't get any disturbance with light. As we have kids and my wife switch on the night lamp every day after giving birth to our kids, so we are using the lights in the night time for years, so we have the ability to sleep with lights.

I am also used to sleep with the lights off.. so any lights while I am sleeping will make me wake up and make me irritate so like you I just put a pillow over my head to make myself fall asleep again.. even my child easily wakes up when someone turn on the lights..

it did before. i lived in a dormitory and i had to share a room with three people.
so, the light is in the middle of the room and i just turn my body sideways to the side where there is less light. also, it helped that i was really tired when i went to sleep so it didn't matter that the light is open.
maybe you can use an eye cover thingy? or cover your face with the blanket?

For me it does. Growing up I was used to getting up with the sun or just before sun up. Light came to mean being late for my day. I have a hard time sleeping during the day time. If someone turns on a light in my bedroom when I'm sleeping it is likely to wake me up in fairly short order.

The light of the sun doesn't matter of much. The problem is only with the light of the bulb in my bed room. I felt that it is too strong which wakes of up.

Hi,
Bright light makes me disturbance to sleep. I also like to sleep in dark. But if someone switched on the light in between my sleep it makes me no difference. I can sleep in light also. I don't have any conditions for sleep. I can sleep soundly at any situation.

Which are those time you cannot adjust with the lights?

I guess you're not talking about adapting to light, because there are people who don't feel safe or feel scared even while sleeping if the lights are not turned "ON".
The question here is about disturbance.
My father works in another city but he always comes in the weekends and stay with us and goes early in the morning at around 5 to catch the train. So, it causes some kind of disturbance when his alarm rings on suddenly and then turning on the lights to search his things, just makes a disturbance.
The fact is, when you're in deep sleep, when someone turns on the light and do what he wants to do but without any disturbance, it will certainly not affect me in my sleep, but when they start making noises, then everything will seem disturbing.
Have a nice day!

I felt that the light itself is a big disturbance to me. May I am much sensitive to light. This might be the reason why I get up when some one put the lights alone.
So, how do you react at those ones who wakes up from your sleep ?

As I said, its very disturbing when you're awaken up from your deep sleep, then even the tiniest of the noises makes you uncomfortable to get on with your sleep.

Sleeping with a light on (this includes with the television on) has been shown to cause problems with your body's internal clock. Your body basically thinks it's daytime. Also, exposure to light while sleeping has been shown to cause depression.
I used to sleep with the television on. And I was clinically depressed! Anytime I fall asleep with the light on, I can almost count on waking up in the middle of the night.

I just used to switch of the PC or television before I go for a sleep. I think it will be just a waste of the electricity if we do so. Why should I empty my pockets simply without proper reasons ?

Yes. Even a small ray of light comming into my room disturbes my sleep. I close all doors and windows of my room before sleeping. my father scolds me sometimes note to sleep with all lights closed. even the noise of the clock irritates me while sleeping. I need absolute darkness and absolute silence to sleep. On the other hand my brother sleeps even with lights on which is unbelivable for me.

I don't think you can't find a pin drop silence even when you close all the windows and doors. There may be some disturbance. So how do you adjust with it ? How long hours do you used to sleep?
