Serving the Lord and doing good and doing what is right sometimes gets the best of us. I have been really worried about a close friend of mine because she has talked about leaving the church. Her and her family has been there for such a long time but I guess there are something going on. Her husband's father is the pastor of the church. I've been trying to counsel with her and suggesting that maybe they should just take a vaction or take some time off. Everyone needs that from time to time no matter who you are. As I've been praying them and trying to help her work through this I reflected back on my own life and my service to God. There has been many times I felt like throwing in towel and just saying I quit. There has been many times where I just get so tired and dont want to anything for anyone. But then this morning as I was reading in my bible the Lord brought me to two scriptures that I know is speaking to both her and I. One was in Galatians 6:9 Let us become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. The other scripture is found in Romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. So when we get tired yes it's good to step back and take a little break when we can but day to day doing and going we must stay focus. Prayer daily and reading the bible will help us to do this.

I really like this post of yours Christy! I sometimes feel like giving up in serving the Lord, because I love my mother. She doesn't want me to attend to a Christian church, she's so against it because she is a very devoted Catholic. Until now, she still doesn't allow me. This month I wasn't able to go to 3 consecutive Sunday Services because of her. She has a work, and she only goes here at Sundays, I suspect that's because of me, so I wouldn't be able to attend. She doesn't know that we have some services and activities held during weekdays, not just Sundays, so it's fine with me. But I will never give up on serving God, even if that means making my mum mad at me.

God will not give us a challenge that we could not carry and if we just hold on to Him He will provide us with wisdom and strength to be able to get through. Sometimes these moments we consider as "bad times" may turn out later to be blessings that will make us stronger and better persons. Through several rough moments in my life where there was no choice of escape, prayers helped me a lot to overcome these.

It all depends on what we are giving up on, whether it's a relationship, work, life, etc, we have to weigh it all up, as to what is worth the fight, what is worth keeping, and what not to waste our time and energy on us. We are given many challenges in life, and how we deal with them is how we are measured as humans. It is very easy to quit and give up, but what have you achieved? If we work hard and overcome the barriers and obstacles then we can be proud of ourselves and our achievements. Today, for example my aunt and her boyfriend came over to deliver parcels, now I don't get on with her boyfriend, so it would have been just as easy to sit in my bedroom on the computer while they were here and hideaway! But I thought no, that's too easy, that's giving up. So I went downstairs and sad hello, was polite and even though I got no response from him, the fact that I had reached out with the olive branch was enough to make not only me proud of what I had achieved but my mum. I made the effort! As you say you reap what you sow in life with anything.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well i can understand your situation and i think it depends on human beings whether to fight with the tough situation and accept failure easily. In my opinion, every thing is present in our hands, if we wish we can turn a failure into huge success. So all it needs is a dedication, a tough mindset, confidence determination and a strong will power to fight against all odds and i am sure the toughest situation would also fade away.
What say?

Decision making should not be spontaneous or Instantaneous.Spontaneous decision making causes one to think in one angle. At difficult times, decision taking in panicky situation leads to disaster.Try to get aloof from your problem at such instance for a while and calmly analyse your problem,Then the decision taken could be better than the one taken Instantaneously.Problems arise in one's life. There will be remedy to overcome such problems. One way out is not to panic at such situations and peacefully arrive at a solution.
