Qustionable TV shows

United States

I have seen some Television shows lately that promote illegal activities airing on some networks. Moonshiners is one of the shows, they follow various moonshiners and the law enforcement. I know these shows are just for ratings and could not possible be real, for if so they could, and should be, charged with aiding and abetting criminal activity. How is it that we have come to making shows that endorse illegal activities and make it seem as if there is nothing wrong with this? What is next shows that follow murders around to make it seem normal? Shame on the networks for making such shows and in this age of reality shows these fall into the realm of unwarranted marketing of lawlessness. What are your thoughts on this topic or am I just being silly?

you are right. moral values are going down the drain, greed has overtaken movie makers to overlook the importance of instilling goodness and decency. just look around us and see what negative influences has resulted among the younger generations.

I've seen the show and it's hard for me to imagine actual moonshiners being on TV and showing their faces. It would make it too easy for the local police to identify them, follow them, and arrest them when they have evidence. There's already been at least one show that followed a murderer, although it's fiction. Dexter follows a serial killer, who likes killing, but he justifies it by only killing 'bad people'.

Never saw it. Probably on the "learning" channel that used to be a decent network. People need new things all the time, the more outrageous the better. If not, they'll walk away from the tv and do something else--like talking, visiting, playing tennis, taking a walk, and that doesn't make the network money. If they have to film illegal activities to be more sensational than other stations, that's what they will do. And people have gotten so uncreative from watching so much tv that rather than find something constructive to do they will flip from channel to channel--they don't even have to move to do it since we have remote control. I bet if you get a chance to really see the credit and disclaimers you'll see that each episode is a reenactment rather than live action.

I do not know about the show, did not hear about it and did not see it for sure. but maybe its not real ot is just for fun, like the video games. I do not think that any one can make shows against the law, unless its just for fun and laugh. Check it the network and see.
