My daughter got a coupon for a hair cut for $5.99. She didn't need a haircut so she called to see if I could use it. They said yes do I was really happy about saving several bucks.
If you remember my old discussions, I was very sick last summer. I was so hot natured that I had to get my hair nearly shaved off in a buzz cut. Well, I have gotten much better and let my hair grow to about an inch and a half. Yesterday I got it cut and shaped into a nice feminine haircut with wispy ends in the back on my neck. My daughter told me how pretty I looked.
I asked my daughter to fix my hair for me on Christmas Day. She just has to use her fingers and the blow drier to give my hair direction.
Have you gotten any good deals lately? Please share your thoughts with me.

No, I'm sorry to say I haven't had any great deals lately. I think that's awesome that you did, though! Wow! What a deal! The last professional haircut I got cost me $10 and that was around 20 years ago and the stylist was an old friend of mine so I got a discount. That seems like nothing compared to your awesome deal!
If you want to count my being "cured" of my BPPV issue, then yep, I did get quite a deal, not in money but in relief. I went to physical therapy for my vertigo issue last Monday and the therapist fixed me in just one session! I'm sooooooooooo happy not to have that daily vertigo! It can come back at any time so I was given exercises to do at home every day to help prevent that. I would consider that an awesome bargain, since I was fully expecting to have to go to physical therapy for at least a month. I had no idea this would be resolved in only one session.
So, now you need to post a photo of your new haircut. I can picture it and it definitely looks awesome in my mind. I'd love to see it. Who knows? You might inspire me to have my hair cut in a similar fashion.

Oh, MW that is so awesome. The person I knew who had PT for the same condition had to go quite a while. You be faithful about those exercises, okay?

GG, definitely! The exercises take no more than 2 minutes and I'd say they are quite worth doing them every day. I was told I could get away with 2 - 3 times a week but daily is best. They're so simple, too.
PQ, it may very well be what I have, although I haven't heard of fainting with it. I was told it's quite common, although it's more prevalent in people 60 years old and over. It was so bad for me initially that I felt nauseated but that passed once I found a position for my head where the vertigo was almost non-existant (all the way to the left, my BPPV is in my right ear, I found that out after being tested at PT).
If your daughter can find a position for her head where the vertigo is lessened or gone and if she's still dizzy when she closes her eyes, I'd say she definitely has BPPV. If she gets no relief no matter what position she puts her head in, then it's probably vertigo from another cause. Is she very stressed? Oh! The first thing the EMT did to me was an eye test. My eyes were jumping all over the place which I was told was an indication of BPPV. If this happens to your daughter again, make her follow your finger to the left and to the right, up and down, while holding her head in one position and only moving her eyes. If her eyes "jerk", it most likely is BPPV.
I found the home exercises online (just do a search for BPPV), although I got a copy of them from my therapist. Your daughter could try them herself or she could go to her doctor about it. I would have tried the exercises myself before going to my doctor, then physical therapy, but it's much easier to do the exercises after practicing them with the physical therapist.
Good luck finding the cause because then a cure can be found or at least a temporary "fix". I definitely sympathize with her because it is a horrible thing to go through!

Hi again MW. Sorry I didn't get back right away. My daughter's eyes jump too when she has the dizzy spells. Her husband says her eyes twitch. I've not seen it because I just font see that well. The time she went to the doc she wasn't dizzy and her eyes weren't twitching so she didn't diagnose her with vertigo.
I'm glad the maneuvers work for you. I want to study up on them so I can help my daughter or see if they help. Thanks.

Glad that you were able to make use of the coupon. And to feel good about yourself in the bargain, is even better.
I have gotten several good deals and lots of cash back from using the internet to do much of my shopping. Wife even tried to find something for one of our relatives and couldn't so I went online to same store she shopped at and found it. I even got cash back for ordering it online. Couldn't do that at the store.

Had you shopped at Overstocked.com through Big Crumbs you would have gotten back 5% of all you spent. Yes Overstocked is one of Big Crumbs affiliates so we buy and get cash back.

Wow! You did really good! I'm glad you could do that for your wife. I'm never very lucky finding bargains online. However, I learned from my daughter to shop at overstock.com. She gets really good bargains.

Congratulations! I'm so happy for you. I hope I can begin to save for a car. No more debt for me. I got out if debt last summer and vowed not to go in debt again. I can't afford it really. My writing is beginning to pay off big time for me now, so I hope to save $100 or $150 a month to try and get a decent vehicle. I would love an SUV also. My page views have doubled on yahoo so now I am making $9 and change a day. I've been with them for 5 years now and it's just recently doubled since I started tweeting my articles. I've been facebooking them and did well, but now I'm doing much better. I hope u can get a car too. I hate having to rely on SIL for a ride anywhere.

Yep! I really felt good too. I washed my hair today and my daughter out the volumizer in fir me and blew my hair into the style the beauty operator did for me. My daughter will do it for me for Christmas Day also.

It's great that you have a nice, new hairstyle that you like.
I just got my hair cut the other day (after the embarrassingly long lapse of a year), and I thought that the price was definitely rather good. Some of the salons in the area charge twice what I paid, and I've heard that they don't necessarily do a job that is reasonable for the price tag.
Another great deal that I just got was this great black dress at a thrift shop yesterday. Eight dollars for a sleek and sexy dress that I can wear to a variety of functions is definitely a bargain in my book.

A price like that is like Christmas. It sounds really nice. I need another cut. My co worker was supposed to do it for me, as she is also a licensed cosmetologist, but she keeps forgetting to bring her tools.

It was wonderful. I felt so pretty when she finished with me. She said to use volumizer in my hair and I told her I still have some from last year still. I said this could be my Christmas present. She said that's not my present. I think she is giving me a gift card.

I am so envious with all of you there living in the US, coz you get to make use of discount coupons. And I have seen on shows how much people would be crazy cutting all those coupons/stamps. Real great deal! I wish there were like those here in our country.

I sure did love it. If my daughter gets another coupon in the next couple of months I will use it if she doesn't want to use it.

Thanks. I'm doing really good right now. I feel so good I forget to take my breathing treatments. I see a pulmonologist every 3 months now. I'm still on oxygen part if the time, but I spend much more time off it than on it.
