Accidents on road has become so common here, most of the roads here in my city is ‘one way’, but still it is best if one checks both sides while crossing even a one-way road, you don’t know when someone will come and dash his/her bike or car on you .
Most of the guys use cell phones to talk and hear music while driving or walking; there are posters and banners advising to drive slow; some say, ‘the minute you save by speeding might be your last’.

It is mandatory to wear helmets while driving 2 wheels and to use seat belts in 4 wheeler but most don’t observe ; the police is supposed to catch and fine the defaulters; they do but leave them free after collecting bribes.
What is the situation at your place and country?

Aunty most of the road of our countries is damaged. Here in our town lots of speed breaker but each speed breaker is danger because not made properly. Lots of reasons behind road accident drink drive, talking on cell phone while driving, pay attention on others while driving, rashness driving etc. Now I heard in news who will drive the vehicle with drink then their license will cancelled.

Beti
Speed breakers are meant to slow down a vehicle, there should be 3 in succession just little slopes, but most are wrongly made, abruptly raised to 9 inch or more, so scooters cars face accident

I think accidents have increased with the increase in vehicles. Now a days the world is moving so quickly that no one dares to even waste a single minute. No one cares of any one else. They just think that they should reach their destination first and in doing this they start driving wrecklessly which results in accidents. Even the pedistrians are mainly responsible for accidents. They do not wait for the traffic to stop and are just in a hurry to cross the road. By this i donot mean that every one does this but mostly i think is the cause of accidents.

Dear Maa,
Accidents are very common in this city. The reason, many drivers are not learnt driving properly; it is easy to get the driving license without going and learning driving. Recently I heard from two people, one owns a driving license but do not know driving. The other one who knows driving do not own a driving license.
Using mobile is another reason for accidents. Drink drive is also playing with the life of people. Traffic people are very strict and seen every nook and corner, but it is easy to escape from them by bribing.

Sree beti
Most drivers here don't have DL, yes just apply for DL through broker paying 800 rupees; no need to go to RTO office or pass through tests; your DL even for heavy vehicles is delivered at home..
A man having one arm was given licence too here

It is pretty much the same here in our country. The only problem is, when the authorities would catch those who are not following the traffic/road rules and regulations, some would bribe the police in exchange for their license not to be confiscated.

Hello there Kalyni2011!
So bribery isn't only rampant here in my country. Right you are when driver/road violators were caught, they gave bribes to police or traffic enforcers so that their licemse couldn't be confiscate.
I for one is a driver of two wheel and a four wheel vehicle. I am proud to say that in my almost 15years of driving, my license had not been confiscated. I hadn't violated any traffic rules.
There are really many road accidents especially on motorcycles. I guess that is because motorcycles are reckless drivers. I mean, they overtake and pass in all directions, left or right. And, helmets available here in my country isn't standard. Helmets should be head protection incase of accidents.
Happy Holidays!

Hi girl
It is omnipresent lol
I am happy you drive obeying safety rules.
Here you can get a licence through brokers with out going to the RTO office; you have to pay 2 to 3 times the fees though.

Kalyani mam, we can avoid accidents by following the rules strictly. But most of the persons don't give importance to the rules and regrets a lot after facing the accident. As you know i am also from India and you know about Indian accidents. Always i follow the traffic rules and wear helmet while driving my two wheeler
