Which did a survey to find out the best short haul airlines. The airlines mentioned fly within Europe. Swiss Airlines came first with a massive 82 percent. Turkish Airlines came second and Lufthansa came third. Aer Lingus came next. Easy Jet got just 54% and Ryan Air was even lower at 34%. Those are the no frills airlines of Europe that fly from many airports in my home country. Do you mind paying extra for baggage? Do you prefer a window or an aisle seat on a short haul plane ride? Which was your best short duration flight do you think?

I have used both Ryan Air and Easy Jet in the past and I would use them again. Last time I went to Spain I travelled from Denmark to the UK (Ryan Air) and from the UK to Spain (Easy Jet) That was cheaper than a direct flight from Denmark. On a short haul plane ride I prefer a window seat and I like to look at view from the window when we arrive at our destination. It is especially interesting if it is a place where I have never been before. My husband wants an aisle seat so if there are 3 seats I usually sit in the middle when we travel together. In the small planes there are only two seats so we can get both a window seat and aisle seat and still sit together.

I am glad you have traveled on Easy Jet and Ryan Air. It is interesting you flew from Denmark to the UK and then from the UK to Spain. Amazingly it was cheaper than a direct flight from Copenhagen. A small plane sounds ideal for you and your husband. I don't like being in the middle seat of three. Yes, a window seat is my ideal to sit. It is a shame when I don't get it.

I am not bothered where I sit on the plane, once you have taken off you can't see anything out of the window, so it makes no odds to whether I sit at the window or aisle seat, personally the window seat is ok, sitting on aisle seat you may have someone sitting beside you who keeps wanting to get past to go to the toilet! I have never had to pay for extra baggage. I am not surprised at Ryan Air but Easyjet I have always found the best.

Hi Wolfie. I like to see out of the plane window at take off time and landing time. I know what you mean about sitting on the aisle seat then the one by the window keeps getting you up to go to the toilet. I am glad you have never had to pay for extra luggage. It is great you have enjoyed traveling on Easy Jet.
