Holiday Celebrations for Pets?

I'm somewhat familiar with different holiday celebrations at this time of year: Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Yule and Winter Solstice. But what about the pet family members? How can you include them in celebrations for these different cultures? Happy holidays! :-)

I've always included my cats in Christmas. Buying them presents and giving them a Christmas dinner of turkey and....turkey. I had one cat who liked mashed potatoes and another that liked corn. They each have their own Christmas stockings and presents under the tree as well. A lot of people dress their pets up in Christmas clothes and get their pictures taken with Santa. I use to know someone who did this and then used the picture on their Christmas cards. Pets are part of the family. I wouldn't ever think of celebrating without including them.

Happy Christmas Eve, deazil, and thanks for the lovely response. Sounds like some great celebrations you and your friends have. One of our family's dogs was born around Thanksgiving, so that's a particularly special pet celebration for us. Sometimes we even hold their paws to include them in the circle while we bless the meals. Merry Christmas! :-)

Thanks and Merry Christmas to you as well!! That's so great that you do that, holding their paws during the meal blessing. It presents a very appealing picture in my mind.

Heya deazil! It's every bit as beautiful in reality as you're imagining it to be. Merry Christmas! :-)
