Unfinished Story

Does anybody share the same opinion? Due to the fact that the kids of the main characters were introduced at the end of the last part, it would be logical to assume that there would be some kind of continuation of the series. Of course, new characters would appear, and Harry Potter, perhaps, wouldn't be the central character. To support the above-mentioned notion, J. K. Rowling has stated a while ago: "I'm not going to say I won't. I love writing them." So, no one really can say for sure whether she will continue the series or not. So far, we have heard her say numerous things, including a very categorical rejection, but nobody knows how true she will stay to any claim. As many other people, I hope for the series to be continued.

I love Harry Potter and look forward to more of their adventures. J.K. Rowling actually has 2 books that were released post Hallows book. However, for the Harry Potter series themselves she can do what George Lucas did and license the harry Potter "universe" to be written by other writers.

I think that by writing an end of the last book with Harry Potter married and with childrenn, the saga has finished totally. Many years have passed yet there is no plot besides the children boing born. If the author takes up from there, she will have to start all over again.

That's why, perhaps, we can see some books with totally new plots about their children.

In my opinion, the whole Harry Potter movie series was about Voldemort coming back to take destroy everything. That is why even from the first release the philosopher stone, they were talking about Voldemort and the scar on Harry's forehead. At the very end of the last release, Voldemort has been defeated with all the horcrux destroyed. Besides that, Harry Potter only became the main character in the series because of his relationship with Voldemort. With Voldemort gone, Harry Potter is officially ended. Though I don't deny the possibility of a new magical series but, most likely not named Harry Potter as his battle has ended. It's their children who may face new adventure. The author would then need to come out with a new problem to be solved by the young ones.

I love harry potter and I'm a fan of jK Rowling. It will be very exciting for the fans of harry potter if she will write a new series about the kids of the main characters so that the series will not just end on that. New characters. New chapters. New series.

Maybe sometimes something just has to be ended to preserve its value, because if it keeps going on there's a possibility that people will just get tired of it. But personally I'm a great fan of the Harry Potter series and I hope JK Rowling writes more books! :)

You are totally right. I would like to read more about their adventures also. Especially, I am really curious about the jobs of these characters and as long as I remember, it was not mentioned in the book. So that would be nice to read some more stories about harry who may be an auror and can fight with dark wizards :)

I'm a big Harry Potter fan and it would be nice if the story will continue. You are right there could be another story and this time it could be their kids that goes through new adventures and challenges. As long as J.K. Rowling writes the continuation if ever there would be one then it will be all good.

The kids were introduced in the epilogue, so there's no particular pressure to tell their story. To me, she's not the sort to try to milk the series for any more, now that the mass hysteria has passed. I'm hopeful she'll write more in a few years, for the die-hard fans and people who love the world but I'm glad she's not spewing out crap just to earn a bit of extra cash off the back of the original books!! If I remember right, Rowling has said she doesn't particularly want to do any more. She's got the encyclopaedia of Harry's world that she'd like to publish and she's doing the whole Pottermore thing (plus they made a mini-film for the theme park place just recently) but I doubt she'll do any more - at least not for a LONG time. She's been writing other stuff so I reckon she'll see how that goes... and it's not like she needs the money anyway.

I love J K Rowling's work. The Harry Potter series is a masterpiece. But has anyone noticed that the complete series has thee same moral, the moral which we get from the first one. Surrounding the central idea there are several morals in the entire series. Though the series looks complete there is an open end though, but wouldn't it be awesome anyway? I wish her world goes on forever!

I guess it will depend on how much she is drawn to "the world of Harry Potter." She has written another book that is completely unrelated to the Harry Potter phenomenon, and it didn't do so well, either critically or financially, so maybe the wizarding world really is her genre, and she will decide to return to it. I think it will take a lot to top the success of the original series, but it can be done. Think of Rich Riordan, who started with the Lightning Thief series, based on Greek mythology. He now has two additional series running--one based on Egyptian mythology, and one based on Roman mythology, and all are successful. I guess we'll just have to wait and see....

I'd love to see J.K. come out with another book from the Potter Universe. I'm glad she doesn't want to 'milk it for all it's worth' though. I've seen writers do that in the past and come out with horrible things. As a writer I can respect why she hasn't written anything else on it, but as a fan I'm as hopeful and excited as any other fan would be about the possibility of more books.

I love Harry Potter books and if she will continue writing about the kids, I will definitely buy them. People will be expecting so much from her if she continues to write about them so maybe she is really thinking on a good plot of a story for she doesn't want to be criticized if the people did not like it. People is remembering her stories up to now and it's better if she stays in that kind of reputation.

While I do want a new story, I cannot imagine where it would lead. and JK Rowling would have to introduce a new villain, wouldn't she? I fervently hope she does write a new book though. She always surprises me with her witty ideas.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Yes u are absolutely right, whenever kids are introduced in a story that means there is a probability that the story will have a continuation. What i heard from the rumor mills that JK Rowling is contemplating to have another series and i know it comes as a surprise as she has announced that she wont be writing any more for these series. But whatever may be the case, i think it would be exciting to see one more series from her. What say?
