Of course the world didn't end on December 21st. But did anyone really believe it would? I'm not making fun, I'm serious. Do you know anyone who really thought the world was going to end? I asked another mylotter that and she said there was one lady she knew who did. I don't believe I saw any mylotters who believed the hoax, but maybe you guys did?

Nope, I never did believe it. Even if it was true and the world was going to end on 12/21, why should we waste any time worrying about it? I mean, we couldn't stop it if we wanted to so why not spend our last few days enjoying life?
Still, I was kinda hoping it would happen. With all the poop that has recently hit the fan in this family, I just got tired, so very tired. You know how it is, any way you turn, there's more problems, big ones. Life does that at times, throws us one mess after another until we're so tired from it all that we just want to give up. I was there. I'm a tiny bit better at the moment but Christmas is ruined this year. I just don't have the time, the energy or the money to celebrate like we usually do. Still, I will try to keep the spirit of Christmas in my heart and enjoy what I can.
I hope you are doing well, AP. I know how you suffer sometimes and truly hope that you have a good Christmas with your family.

Thank you, AP! The dust is settling a bit at the moment so I have my fingers crossed that nothing else major will happen (unless it's good stuff, lol). Actually, I just found out that we may get a little snow for Christmas! It might just be sleet and/or freezing rain but it would be so nice to see snow falling, even if it doesn't amount to anything.
I hope you have a beautiful Christmas day.

I can't believe this! We're getting our first real snowfall of the season and it's Christmas Eve. I couldn't wish for anything better than this.

nope not for one second, I wrote an entire series on the predictions from ancient times until now about the world ending. I don't know anyone personally who believed that it would either.

Of course you know I didn't believe in the return of the Messiah since there is still no third temple,(since that would be a King on the throne,) but as for the literal end, I know it won't be a ball of fire or anything like some believe because this world will always be here, just with only one leader and without and evil we deal with.
What I do wonder though, is did something happen yesterday that marks a dividing line? In anything in how we look at things or live? I think it is too soon, but it would be interesting to find out if a change is coming, to end the world "as we know it"

No, I never gave it any thought at all because the Bible tells us that no one knows the time or the hour. I even forgot it was supposed to happen

Hi Cythiann, but we are given signs to look out for. Though we don't know exactly, by looking at Israel, (or some of my friends who look to the stars,) neither one was close the His coming back...

I don't believe about December 21st, but honestly speaking, when the priest told us about the end of the world on December 21st, I got fear, but then, I used my mind. I rid of this fear, because fear is a negative feelings. God knows when it will end. I believe in God that he'll never end this world.

Yes. He just said that we're not sure about December 21st, but we have just to be ready and that is all. It is from him I heard first about December 21st the end of the world. Ha ha  -- I don't know where he get that. Maybe from the internet too.

Somewhere in the world, people must have believed it. If no one believed it, it wouldn't be such a fuss and people wouldn't make it a big deal. It probably won't even be in the news.

I guess it does, it even helps businesses sell. I was walking in the market on the 20th of December and people were urging me to buy their merchandise because it was the end of the world. Surely there will be other end of the world threats and this won't be the last one. My grandmother was very affected by it that starting dec. 21st at midnight, she kept on peeping in our rooms seeing if we've "raptured".

My mom called me. We live about 1000 miles apart and said she had been watching the history channel and national geographic channel and how they were talking about a magnetic shift they said was lining up and also some sun spot activity (or the like). She wanted to know what I thought, as she knows a I'm a real Bible buff. Of course I didn't believe this as it was at best 'prophesied' by the Mayans which if I remember right had some strange religious customs, although I may be thinking they had a connection to the Aztecs which I know were extremely rough or barbaric in their observances to say the least. (So any 'prophecy' made by them, or so called wisdom, would not be reliable at all!)
- But I did tell her a couple of things which are in Bible prophecy, especially the Book of Revelation.. collapse of man's system which is bound to occur and drought, thus discord, etc.
- And as we got talking I also mentioned how the government(s) have the ability to jam the electronics of the nation.. then later I thought to myself, how convenient if government would use the Mayan date to do so and then blame it on a magnetic shift, and could use the crises to take over more of life's issues and institute marshall law. I still think government could do such a thing, if and when the people of a nation are defenseless, but they would need another convenient date! Yes, I even think it was in the minds but someone dropped the ball or there is more resistance to government all in all than they expect(ed). Yep, I won't deny being a tad extreme.

the Mayans are misunderstood and they are laughing at us for this silly Mayan calendar thing. I know personaly a full-fledged Mayan. They did not all get killed off though many did and they never predicted the world's end..we did. they simply ended the calendar for reasons of their own. People should research.

I don't know anyone who really thought the world was going to end on December 21st. As the text read it wasn't going to end just end as we know it. People interpreted that to mean end totally.

Nah...I don't know anyone that actually took it seriously. I did get tickled at my daughters though. It had been unseasonably warm and then suddenly that night before, it got very cold and the wind was swishing. My older daughter came to get the baby and mentioned...well...it is weird outside. My youngest popped her head up over the back of the couch. That night my youngest stayed up all night playing Xbox...saying well..it might be the end of the world. I am thinking she was milking it.

I would like to say that no I didn't believe it.
Honestly though, I would suspect that I was only 99.99% sure that it was not going to happen.
I did find myself thinking now and again-
"Hmmm, what if it is this time?"
I am actually looking forward to our next end of the world prediction

No, I did not know anyone who really believed it, but you know, it could any moment of any day. We should live that way all the time and treat people as if this is our last time with them.

Why to be more anxious to predictions of those who believed that the Earth is the center of Universe and whole is revolving around the Earth. Medias and fear mongering persons need these type of news every year.

I really didn't believe on that, it's just a waste of time and it's depressing :) But for me if the world will end it maybe very from now. The world might end if we keep on abusing our nature. Global warming, landslides, floods and other difficulties might come and maybe soon if we will not make any move about this it would be worsen.

i believe there is an end to my life as a human being. but i am made of matter. even if i die i still be around and be a part of this universe only in a different form, lifeless maybe, or maybe without consciousness. the world will never end, maybe it will just transform into another form different from what we know and see now. the world is constantly changing. but it is here to stay. the old will be replaced slowly by the new. only one thing will always remain, and that is the truth. the truth will never change. and it drives me sometimes to know what it is. because it is also said that the truth will set us free.
