We are a gun family, and we won't change that, for one it is the only way to protect our animals from cougars and wild dogs. Would any of us shoot a human, only if threatened with no other course of action. Now these are the things we agree on. Should our schools have armed protection at all time? Should assult weapons be sold to the public? Should all armed people be licensed and required to pass saftey classes? These and many other questions reguarding this issue are certianly subject to discussions around this ranch.

I think that these topics have made it in to most homes now. There is certainly great debate over how to move forward. I have to mention that the only people that abide by laws would be the people without weapons if they are outlawed. It is certainly something to consider when you think of taking a means of protection away from those of us that abide by the laws. Home invasions and robberies are at an all time high and under these circumstances it is just plain scary to rely on a lock and some luck to keep your family alive.

I think schools should not have armed protection because that will not be ideal environment for study. And yes definately people should have license for arms so that the weapon will remain in safe and qualified hands. The test for the license should be more strict. Specially mental health of a person should be checked.
