2012, the most famous but failed prediction.
What do you think about predicting the future?
I think, the predictors can only feel a fuzzy idea of the future.
So the big predictions are always hard to understand.
Let's take the 911 prediction as an example. The predictor (Mayan, I remembered) said, "A large grey bird destroy the biggest bar. Blood and dust drops, crying and screaming starts. The world become dark."
No one knows for sure what will happen before the airplane crush the twin tower.
But after that event, we can easily see the common place between prediction and tureth.
Predictions may be true, we only need a person who can resolve them correctly.

Maybe that person will say "Hey folks, Dec 21st, 2012 was a typo error. The real doomsday will be **/**/****."
Then another waiting starts.

A lot of times people start predicting stuff based on nothing. I think it is impossible to know what the future holds in store. You can't predict it. Nobody knows when the world ends, and that's that. Despite the fact that very soon the end of the world will be predicted again....*shakes head*

All those predictions were made in a period when knowledge and view about Universe and Earth were far different from the present knowledge and view. No one can deny that present science is more factual than that time's. In my opinion giving more botheration about such predictions is a part of job of media and fear mongering persons. Besides if one make 1000 predictions 1 may has similarity to an actual incident later.
