I encountered a few discussion with misleading title, just very very few though. The title is very far from the content or from the topic. But its fine with me, I do not see any issues with that. It is just sometimes, I ended up not answering the discussion at all.
Sometimes, some My Lotters will use a very powerful title which is only a bit related to the discussion but it is still has a connection to the content. However, some are not totally related at all.
Have you encountered a discussion with misleading title? Those title that are extremely different and totally not connectd to the content? Did you respond that that discussion?

I rarely encounter such discussions but its really inappropriate for we as readers will base our first impression on the title of the discussion. Having such misleading titles would be frustrating or will even trigger my anger.

I think it's amusing. And, as others have already said, the authors may want to get your attention - and it works! I always read a discussion entirely before responding anyway. It doesn't matter to me what the title is, it's the content that counts. If it's something I can respond to I will. If not I just move on. But if there's an interesting or catchy title I'm more apt to read the discussion, which is the desired result of the author. I enjoy those misleading titles.

Like Lamby said, sometimes members will use a title to make sure people are actually reading the contact of the post. some people who are writers will also use what is called a "Hook" where the title grabs the attention of the reader, but only to get them to continue to read.

There's not much on myLot that bothers me other than violating the guidelines. I don't care if someone uses a misleading title. If I'm interested, I respond and if I'm not, I keep looking for something else to respond to.
I have never written a discussion where the title is misleading but there are many clever people here who have and it just makes me laugh sometimes. I just actually have fun here and go about my merry way chatting with people.

Well, maybe I encountered those misleading title, but I just can't remember. I still respond to the discussion as long as its interests me a lot, but if not, I will not respond to the discussion. It still depends on the content.

yeah I also had seen some discussions whose title is not matching the content inside. Some persons use this trick to attract more and more mylotters to their discussion.

Yes, and I will answer those discussions if they interest me. I tend to read an entire discussion before answering it. There are some users who will mislead you on purpose so that they can see who really reads the discussion.

I admit it, I often use a title that is off the wall, so to speak. I try to ceate an interest where just an ordinary title might just turn people off. If I can get just one more person to open their minds a little it's worth it. When I am looking for discussion to respond to I looke for ones with interesting titles.
If it turns out the discussion isn't interesting to me I just don't respond.

I always write the title according to my discussions and related to contents. Not unrelated or mislead. Not want to taking the attention of more mylotter so write the attractive title. If I feel title is good then write otherwise not. Still I not pay attention on any such discussion.
