Some say that the kind of songs saved on your music player reflects your personality. Rock music lovers are deep and emotional, Pop music lover are fun and easy to get along with, R and B music lovers are romantic. Do you think the songs in your music player reflects your personality? I have different kind of music in music player. From ballad to rock, from classical to R&B music. But my favorite is instrumental music. What songs are saved on your music player?

I'm actually a lot like you - having different kinds of music in my music player. I guess since the pop + R&B + electronic songs in my player outweigh the classical and ballad songs, I'm fun and easy and romantic (and whatever electronic people are)? This is an interesting discussion!

You know something that I find very interesting is how music is crossing the boundaries . It is no longer like that certain artists musics fits into just one category. I mean you can hear some country songs on adult contemporary channels. Some country artists have even redone songs that were hits in a different genre of music that helps the song to have more of a country twist on a contemporary song. It all just melds together into on category called the music that we enjoy listening to either on the radio or playlists on our computers.

Indeed. The boundaries between different genres of music is becoming blurred and increasingly one cannot classify a song in just one genre simply because that song has elements from different genres. I don't think it's a particularly bad thing though, so long as the music is still of good quality.

Hmmm, wonder what that says about me when I have just about every kind of genre except country in my playlist? Multiple personalities maybe???

HAHAHAHA!!! Well I think it just reflects the multiple facets of our personality - after all, we humans are three dimensional.

hi there chiwasaki. i do agree that the type of music one listens to is reflective of one's personality. however, one can argue that people listen to the type of music depending on their mood. i would say that the music in my player reflects my personality but more than that it is also a reflection of my growth as a person. i have songs that i have listened to when i was younger and songs that my older relatives listened to the i have grown to love as well. as for the actual songs, my choices are very eclectic and range from the doors, jimi hendrix, dmx, wu tang clan, cypress hill, dr. dre, red hot chili peppers, metallica, up to some blues from miles davis and sprinkled with some soul from the 50s, 60s and 70s. cheers and happy mylotting!!!

I do believe that we can find some songs more to our liking than others, but still there is something that pulls us towards a particular song. I mean it is like the second that you hear it come on the radio you crank up the volume and start singing along to it. We can find a lot of music agreeable, but to spend the time to add a song to our play list generally I think that we choose songs that have a certain way of speaking volumes to us. It could be a song like Stronger by Kelly Clarkson that seems to empower and motivate you to hear it. I think these are the songs that we tend to add to our playlists. It is the songs that we hear on the radio once, and we want to hear it over and over again. The songs that it seems like the radio station can never play it enough. In the old days, we would call up radio stations and beg them to play these favorite songs. Today, we have the internet and we can head over to YouTube to hear pretty much any song that suits our fancy.

I don't have any. I do like rock music, but its just become too hard a bother to actually have anything on a music player - heck, I mostly listen to audio books in my car even. I guess I'm getting boring...

Yeah I agree, most of the time the kind of music you love to listen to will reflect your personality. Not only that but it can also reveal your mood. I put a lot of assorted songs in my music player. I'm a music lover so I like all genres.

I like to listen to some soft songs and also some songs with great lyrics, because i think these songs can clam our emotions and offer us a comfortable feeling when we are listening to them.
