T-Mobile and bad service

I live in the Tampa Bay area of Florida, which is a farly large area, population wise. I have T-Mobile as my cellphone provider. Even though they spend millions of dollars on commericals saying how wide their 4G coverage is, basically their service stinks! Even in areas where my phone is showing that I have 4G coverage, the data speed is ridiculously slow! I hear that T-Mobile is one of the companies that purposely slows your data speed down if you use the web on your phone very much. I use about 1.67 to 1.85 GB of data a month and people with other carriers blow my data plan away. I have relatives in the metro Indianapolis area (Indianapolis is the capital of Indiana) and their coverage (phone and data is practically non-existant. I was planning on suffering in silence until my contract was up then go to a different company. The final straw was when I returned a defective phone and they charged me $75 because the phone had been exposed to moisture. The only place that the phone has been is on my nightstand and in my pants pocket. Surely, the humidity in Florida isn't that bad where it gets through my pants pocket and seeps into their phones. I have heard other people tell me that they got this bogus "moisture" charge, too. Please, think long and hard before signing a contract with T-Mobile! Save yourself a lot of grief. Ask friends and neighbors about their cell carriers. Make the effort and save yourself from slow as molasses data service. I can't wait until my contract is up so that I can get away from T-Mobile.

Well, it is getting rediculous what these Phone carriers charge anymore. That is why many people especially around here are straying from the regular Cell phone companies and going with places like WalMart with their Straight Talk which I hear is like $45 for unlimited everything for $45 a month. Only thing is then you have to buy your phone and worry about it if you have problems, but to me sounds so much better.
I personally do not like T-Mobile. They were not very helpful back when we had them either. Plus they will not work in the area I am living and when we had to switch early due to this, they would not offer us a break.

I've been with T-Mobile for a long time. When I started it was called VoiceStream. I use to love their commericals with Jamie Lee Curtis. I have stayed with them for about 8 years because they have done okay. Now, however, they are getting terrible. Like you mentioned, their coverage stinks in a lot of areas and their new policies suck.

Haha,my dear friend...I am so sorry to hear that your T-Mobile service is so bad ^_^...I am not sure what's the 4G development condition in USA,but accoring to my knowing,4G technology is not that mature so far, hence, why not choosing 3G?...
And,I've found that a not-too-bad 3G smartphone can run very fast with the China Unicom net---it's my experience.
You said that you can't wait until your contract is up so that you can get away from T-Mobile, I am not that clear what contract you have with T-Mobile? In my opinion,if you really don't like T-Mobile, just change another ONE,right?
Hope you can be far way from you above puzzle ASAP... ^_^

In the United States, when you sign a contract with your carrier: you get a discounted price on a new phone, a rate plan or both. Most contracts are for two years, which is what I have.

1.8Gb a month is way too low. You should change carrier if that's the case. T-Mobile should just put a cap on their internet usage instead of slowing consumer's connection, which sounds a bit shady. If they continue this, I bet they'd loae a lot of customers, and eventually their business.

I had heard that T-Mobile lowers your data speed after you reach 2GB. If that's the case, I would hate to have to have a much slower data speed than I already have. I am looking for recommendations for a new carrier.
