A couple of weeks ago it was very windy here. I was leaving work and we have these very heavy doors. When I opened the door to leave work somehow my thumb got caught on the door and I could feel something snap. I haven't been able to use my thumb (you never know how much you need it until you can't use it!) for things like snapping my jeans etc! Yesterday I was vacumning the craft room, rolling around on my office chair and the chair tipped over. I landed with my hand on the floor and my thumb was the first things that hit! The pain was horrible. I thought I would pass out. I came down and put ice on it right away. Well after a while I realized that I could use my thumb again without any pain! I think it might have been dislocated and when I hit the floor it popped it back into place! LOL....I can hardly believe it! So sometimes two wrongs do make a right! Have you had anything freaky like that happen to you? I had a friend who had a problem with her shoulder and when she was dancing her partner swung her around...something snapped and her shoulder was back to normal!

I have always heard and read that many times when you dislocate something the best thing is and even cheapest is to snap it back into place. It might hurt doing so, but usually some of the cheapest solutions out there might be things people do not always expect. Glad things are better for you.

I never have anything like this happen to me. I recently was watching Discovery Channel on people who in Alaska, who live in the middle of nowhere! They are pretty much to far for the nearest town if someone needs medical help. On the program one guy had his left shoulder pulled out of its joint. So one of the other guys he was with popped his shoulder back in! The guy with the should problem was still sore but at least he didn't have to go to the hospital!

Um, I take it (she said drily) that you didn't take your thumb to a doctor?

Ha! sounds like my friend who was playing basketball. He accidentally twisted his lower arm and dislocate the bone. It was very obvious to see the bone not in the right place. Then they called our famous neighbor a therapist of sort..lol, because she's massaging really well that whatever pain is with us it's cured. Anyway, she then twisted the arm in a very quick move and my friend's face went very pale like he's going to faint, but his arm went well again, It was back in it's place without calling a doctor.
