I just read another inspiring story from a girl in India who is a survivor of acid attack. From what I understand the girl named Sonali Mukherjee was asked by 3 fellow students to go out but she refused them. At night while sleeping, these 3 men went inside her house and pour the acide over face that melts one side of face, nose and ear. The men were caught and locked behind bars for only several days after bailing out. Her family sold everything they have for her surgery and treatment but it wasn't enough, she needed more. She asked for government support but was turned down. She then applied to play a game called "who want's to be a millionaire". And lucky her, she won won the 2.5 million rupees. Just like the movie slumdog millionaire where the the victims became the winner. In her story, she said she could have swallowed poison instead of living continually with pain and shame of how she looks, but she choose to stand up, fight and live..at then end, she won.

Hi vernaC This is really good and inspiring. I have heard about her earlier and definitely, it always pays good when you have the will to fight and live. It is about survival and not many today have the guts to go ahead fighting in circumstances which she survived.

Thesids..where have you been hiding huh? I didn't see you for many, many, many days How are you? If I were in her shoes, I doubt if I still want to go on living. Everything is ruined, especially her future. This is why I love to read different people's experience, they enlighten me a lot how to survive.
