I've never heard of a gift set of liquor--I guess since most of my friends and family don't drink (at least publicly), I have never thought of that as a gift. Is it for Christmas or New Year?

They are usually Christmas gifts because they usually come in special packaging and/or shot glasses and drinking glasses.
