The freedom of mylot!

I love the freedom of Mylot, to me it's like therapy, because sometimes you can get the best advice from 'strangers' you get a different point of view and perspective that you might not have thought of, and only those close to you may not be able to tell you, but others can! I find it a wonderful place to 'offload' because I know I get the support, warmth and advice and people listen and care. Many a time I have had difficulties in my life and know that I can turn to Mylot and each time I have been pleasantly surprised at the response and felt sooooooooo much better afterwards. You would pay a fortune to see a counselor each week, and all the support and advice is totally free!

There is no matter what I am going to say in fb or here, I don't have a secret. My friends know my nature, and they also know what I do during this. The most important thing for me is keeping the mutual feelings for each other while saying.

Sounds like me ctryhnny! In my circle of friends and relatives, I think I am just the only one who does online thing aside from faceook. I am really, really glad that I discovered myLot. Mylot is like a friend to me. It is here that I share my thoughts that I can't share with facebook because I don't easily open up with my friends and family. I use facebook to stay connected with the people that I know while I use myLot to do the things that I like -- reading, writing, sharing my thoughts and I like the interaction. Happy New Year!

I usually don't write or say anything I don't want others to read or hear, but I do make mistakes from time to time, like everyone else. I am not sure if there are other people from our family on here I suppose their could be.

I don't post personal stuff on facebook, I have a lot of people there that I don't want them to see what's going on in my personal life. I have my friends and also my old professors and employers, so you imagine why I would never post my problem on fb wall! On the other hand here I will get honest opinions and I feel free to post anything. And because of this anonymity I believe that everyone gives honest opinions and I have already been helped a lot with my every day problems! Mylot allows me to express my feelings and thought without the judgement of friends and family that facebook has.

Well, I just say what I need to say or want to say. I don't give this information out on facebook, because no one asks. Facebook doesn't really seem to be a discussion format such as mylot. I also believe a lot of my "friends" could be using mylot, (incognito-using a different country, different name) and posting away just as much as I am. It's okay, if they are I would say the same thing to their face as what I am saying now, because I am being authentic. I won't want to hurt anyones feelings, so I just usually avoid posting some stuff. I don't send messages anymore either except to my kids.

I think the same way! Whenever I have problems or something is on my mind, I never put it up on facebook where a lot of people know me. I suggest you don't post status on your facebook especially if it's personal. Not everyone would understand. Like my boyfriend yesterday. His mom and family were upset at him posting something on FB. My boyfriend had to say sorry. I told him to be careful around facebook this time. He's becoming like those FB junkies that seem to express their feelings on FB. Not everyone will be pleased so we should be careful around fb. Better to share it around mylot. Like you said, we are anonymous here. If someone gets offended we won't feel so bad because in here we are expected to share our feelings and our thoughts and people here won't be biased because they don't know who you really are. They won't take it personally! That's why I spend so much time here. I am free to share my thoughts and feelings. And people here are very kind and give good advice. They often empathize more compared to people we know in real life. As much as possible, I want to keep my life here separate from my fb life. I don't want people I know to be here. That's why I don't have many referrals. I don't care. It's not money that I'm really after anymore, though initially it's the money that drew me to this site. But now, I'm just glad that I have nothing to hide here and I'm free!

Hi,ctryhnny. It does happen on me too! Basically, I knew this site from my brother who actually is a member of this site. I am his referral. But good things is, he do not go and check every single things like he does on Facebook. That is why, I feel safe on saying things here instead of Facebook. Besides, now my mother was a member of Facebook now! That is even worst. That is why, for now, I never write anything unnecessary on Facebook now. Since I know, once I wrote, what I got is scold, or being complain on writing things like that. Even sharing things which is some kind of good quotes of relationship, she complain and ask me not to post things like that. Since for her, she think it will make people think the other way round. My gosh. That was some kind of ridiculous things I ever met! Even sharing things I also have no priority on doing it? That was seriously annoying. I hate the life that is like, freedom-less. Even I do not own my own privacy or secrets? That is kinda rude for them to give no freedom to their children even they said they do give me. They only know how to SAY, but not doing it. So, I love the freedom here in MyLot. It is a great things for me. Since I got to write what I want, give other people my opinion, get other people's opinion, instead of getting 'likes' on Facebook, or comment from those people who get annoyed with that. Your right mylot is a great place for us. I have so much fun here, and meet people from all over the world here. Id be sad without it. I also like the fact we can voice our opinion here. Happy new years...

Hi ctryhnny, FB and Mylot is very big difference not only on its form but perhaps the deliberation of freedom. FB actually is more on members personal activities, posting status, pictures, events happening in everyday and sometimes this is an avenue to express different forms of sentiments its either good, informative or rude, harsh and below the belt wordings and without moderation by the Admins. However, in Mylot there are lots of learning can be acquired with no foul words. You can express your thoughts and opinions but in line with the rules and guidelines implemented. Truly indeed that this is the site of professionals and open minded individuals whose deep concern is to share ideas, opinions and then learn and earn. The freedom is openly awarded to all members but entails corresponding sanctions on every violations committed. For me, this is the great site, have freedom but you should know where and when to exercise it.
