So who likes wrapping? OMG I hate it. I been wrapping for the past 2 hours and still not done yet. I have 3 more people left to wrap for. It's been making me mad trying to wrap I been swearing up a storm lol. The wrapping paper keeps folding on me or ripping and I can't stand it. I'm the only one home so nobody here to help me. Thank god 2 of 3 gifts are going to be in gift bags and then the others I'll have to wrap and wrap my bowling gift yet. Ugh I can't wait to be done with this and won't have to worry about it til next year. My wrapping isn't perfect but I figure it's just going to be ripped open in 5 seconds so doesn't have to look fancy. What's your take on gift wrapping? Do you make yours look fancy or just simple?

I absolutely hate wrapping period, I normally give it in a bag. I remember once I gave it in a garbage bag and duct tape. My friend just laughted saying typically of me to do that.

Some really big gifts I will just put in garbage bags if it's too big to wrap and give it to them like that. We seem to do that every year because for my niece and nephew we buy huge gifts lol.

Normally I don't buy many gifts, my friends I put in a regular plastic bag, so she couldn't see it, but could still easily unwrap it (and reuse the bag). I will wrap gifts for kids, but adults I don't even bother.

Blondie2222 For me it depends on how much time I have. I can remember past Christmases when I was up late the night before just trying to finish the wrapping..I still remember it as a terrible experience and one to sap all the joy out of Christmas. Then I started using gift bags...and it was oh so much easier..And for some gifts I even use the pre wrapped ones... Unfortunately for me I am a perfectinist when it comes to wrapping..all the corners have to be perfect and the package has to be beautiful...

I'm not a profession when it comes to wrapping, my edges never look good and it's all a mess. But 2 me it doesn't have to look perfect because it's just going to get ripped open within 5 seconds.

I enjoy it to begin with but it sure gets old after awhile. WHen I bought my daughter alot of gifts I would have to wrap for several days, couldn't do it all in one time. I have started using alot of the gift bags. They are so cute. Especially for te adults. The young ones like to unwrap. It is quite a feeling of accomplishment too when you get all done.

I wrapped the gifts this morning, and I was happy when I finished wrapping the last gift. Now I am ready for christmas. Today it is just something that I need to do and not something that I enjoy. In the past I enjoyed it and I always did it the last days before Christmas Eve, I listened to christmas music on the radio while I wrapped the gifts and I spent a nice evening that way. Today I just wrap the gifts in a simple way, it is part of the preparations for christmas, but it not exactly something that I look forward to.

That is why they "invented" gift bags and tissue paper! Just drop gift in, stuff with colored tissue paper and you are done! I always hated that as I thought it just showed that the person didn't care to put their time into wrapping! But also to me...one of the fun parts of Christmas is ripping that paper off and seeing it litterd on the floor and all the colors and the fun it all is! I of course...save the ribbons for next year! But what did I do last 2 years now? Gift bags! And this year, since I made twin size quilts for each of my grand kids...I just got large gift bags for them instead of trying to wrap fabric with paper!

I did some wrapping Thursday night when I got home from shopping and I did a couple last night and finished the rest today. I'm so glad to be done with it, wrapping is the worst. I love shopping that's about it. I also listened to christmas music and watched christmas movies while wrapping.

Just be careful if you have gifts for kids that are being stored in the same house...my siblings, cousins, and I loved it when adults would wrap with gift bags because that meant easy peeking! ;)

I never have much to wrap every Christmas so it is not that terrible. I make some of the presents (jams and relishes in recycled jard) To them, I just placed a colorful looking paper, not bothering to have it all wrapped up, and a ribbon with the name on it. Some of them will have to be in my fridge until tomorrow, so I cannot wrap them better. The rest are simple, but I tried to get nice looking papers for everyone. I save wrapping papers too so that I have them for next Christmas.

Sounds great! I used to make cookies and fill a ziplock baggie of them and then just put them int he middle of the wrapping paper and bring up all sides and tie at the top. Always looks great! Any unused wrapping paper.. I used to try to save it for next year, but was just to much trouble for what it was worth...you can get it at the Dollar Stores for a buck now, so why save it. But I use unused paper for lining shelves, and writing paper.. I write on the back and send the letter to my grand kids! I make it about 6 inches wide and 3 feet long! THey love it!

I loved the letters sent on unused wrapping paper. I belong to the time when mails meant paper and envelopes and I find awesome that your grandkids like it.

I used to do gift bags, but this year I put everything in boxes, which are very easy to wrap. I roll out a little bit of paper at a time and measure it according to how big the box is. This way, the process is pretty easy. I don't do anything fancy, though this year I decided to attach little candy canes to all of the boxes next to the name tags. I make the name tags by cutting a square from scrap gift wrap and writing on the opposite side. It's not fancy, but this is what my whole family does. If you don't like gift wrap, you might try using newspaper and painting it or something. A few years ago, I decided to just wrap with newspaper and made some designs over it. It depends on how picky your family/friends are. Most adults don't care, but it's fun to make the kids' presents a little fancy for them to open.

I did a couple gifts in gifts bag this year because there was to much to wrap and i have had enough of wrapping. But those are some good ideas, my family isn't picky of how are wrapping has to be. Some do it simple and others don't.

Hmm...now I should look for the comics section! I just received a bunch of donations to give to some refugee families this year. Maybe I will wrap them in comics! :)

I don't mind wrapping. But I did learn to not do it all at one time. I mad sure I made time to start wrapping what I have at that present time & work that way cause I use to be just like you & do it all at once. Yes that is one way to say I don't like wrapping lol.

I love to wrap presents! Just gave a lesson to my GD this week..she hates it! But when I was a kid...mom would set up the dining room table one day and she'd have all the gifts for us to pick for each other andt hen one at a time, we'd go into the room and wrap our gifts....and the scraps...me and my sister would pick up and save..and afterwards...we'd wrap presents for the dolls etc...out of the little scraps. Thinking now, I think..how stupid...the scraps were so small and yeah for dolls but good grief...were we that deprived that we searched for something small just to warp cause we enjoyed wrapping presents so much?? Guess so! I always wanted to work in the gift wrap department at stores..back in the day when you could take you purchase to the gift wrap department and they'd wrap it for free with their choice of paper and ribbon. I wanted so bad to do that, but got married and my husband refused to let me apply for the temp job cause he didn't want to pay for the gas to get me to the job that paid minimum wage! Now.. those departments are gone and I still can't do it!!!

I wish they still had those sections in stores too. I would always ask to have my gifts pre wrapped so I wouldn't have to worry about it. I wonder why they ever got rid of those stores? They were handy at times.

And they are the gift that keeps on giving! Every year, someone in our family gets a gift in the "Hanukah bag". We don't know where it came from, but it is very festive--the string is made of tassel and it is very glittery. The great thing about gift bags is that it is very easy to re-use them again and again. Just make sure to change the name tag! :)

Simple all the way as most people just tear the paper off ot get ot the gift. I try to buy gifts that are easy to wrap as well as I am not that good at wrapping gifts up. I tend to wrap up in a few goes as it can get boring trying ot wrap everything up in one go. Good luck and I hope that everyone likes the gifts that you have brought for them

I'm okay at wrapping small stuff but when it comes to big items and huge boxes forget it. I had to have my boyfriend help me wrap some things because I couldn't do it on my own. But i'm glad to be done with it all now though.

I used to love to wrap and tried to make every present fancy. Now I am disabled and wrapping is a pain. I don't take nearly as much time with each gift. I use bags whenever I can. I think part of why I hate it now, is that I have to wrap everything at once. Once I get the paper and stuff out, there is no place I can store it, and I have trouble getting it out, so don't want to put it away until everything is done.

I don't mind wrapping gifts too much. But I do not worry about how good its wrapped either, I just do the best I can do since your right it will just be ripped off anyway. Lol.

I love gift wrapping, and I love sometimes going all out on it but it only lasts after a couple of wrapped gifts, lol! I began to tire and get bored and lose interest and would just want everything to be over and done with. I just try to enjoy it while I can and whenever I feel like not gift wrapping anymore when I still have some more to do, I just think of the persons behind those gifts and how happy they would be when they receive it. It works for me, at least.

I try to make it look good and the edges on boxes etc but it never turns out that way. Today the wrapping paper was fighting me it would either rip or fold on me and was very frustrating, I almost gave up but didn't. I'm just glad I'm done with it now and don't have to worry about wrapping anymore stuff until birthdays this year.

I hate it, because Im so bad at it. My son loves it. And hes good at it. When he was 10 he learned from the boys scouts. They would go and wrap xmas gifts for the elderly. I am terrible at it. merry xmas there.

Blondie...that is so understandable. In the past they had time. Now it is not only waste of time, which incidentally is money, but also waste of money because wrapping doesnt come cheap. And after all that pain, it is often thrown out. If only we could get jute bags in which we could put the gifts of the family together and deliver. The bag would be used for shopping and gifts would not be wrapped other than in the packaging they are sold at the shop. Simple, effective, and useful.

I am terrible at wrapping, but I love buying presents and spoiling Randy with quite a few gifts. I have not started wrapping yet because I have a few things to do yet like putting ornaments on the tree, making fudge and finishing my sister's homemade gift. It does not matter how good the wrapping is, but the great look on someone's face is all that matters.

It's part of the christmas rush Blondie, wrapping gifts. However, there are paper bags and ready made wrappers nowadays to buy but they are costly. I do love to receive personally wrap gifts.

I think if you have problems with gift wrapping then I suggest put it in a box so it is easier to wrap because its just a square.. before I also have problems in wrapping a gift but it changes everything when I learned how to make a gift bag., it is much complicated than the ordinary wrapping but when you get the hang of it there will be no problem.. I just make gift bags then put my gifts there then its finished..

I usually wrap fancy, but this year I had to wrap for 50+ co-workers and it was a pain! I held the wrapping back until the last minute so I ended up wrapping really bad. But then when you think about it, they would not really inspect the way you wrapped and i'm sure they'd tear right through it so I guess wrapping crappily should not be such a bad thing.
