So I am surprised that Drone which is more like a small airplane that is much lighter. I think it is just like a very small plane for one or two person. I have read online that because of the popularity of smartphone that has GPS and other features that Drone has been developed also with those features. So Drone technology is all ready now as I have read to be marketed in masses that it would be affordable now compared to before . And that every one can use it for his personal travel like we do with cars.
So it seems like we are seeing a new kind of technology that ushers us more into a different kind of lifestyle. It is like the futuristic movie we have seen before.

My husband works at an Air Force base and all the drones I know about are unmanned.
While they have the technology, it is so they can be unmanned. When pilots in the forces are trained, they shoot down these drones during practice runs while learning how to do everything in their plane.
Also drones can aid in targeting the terrorist areas.
They are an amazing piece of flying equipment for sure. But not made for leisurely travel.
I got to see the first one to ever roll out being made by McDonnell Douglass. It was awesome piece of equipment.

Yeah I think that they have made this drones to be used for personal reasons. So let us just wait when this thing would come out but it seems it would be coming out next year. I don't know if this would be affordable and how it would implemented and where it is allowed to use such for personal use.

Long before everyone has a personal plane, there will be driver-less cars. These vehicles are licensed for the road in several US States already, so its not a new thing. Most of the cars on the road today are commuters on short trips to their jobs and back. A drone would not be commercially viable for commuters. The beauty of the driverless car is that they will run at full speed spaced a few inches apart on the road. Commutes will be very quick and completely safe, while the passengers talk on their phones or play games on their iPads.

I think air travel is much quicker than by car. Therefore a one to two seat plane would be very popular. Though accidents would probably happen. People flying would need somewhere to park their plane. Yes, it is great that it is small and light. New technology really surprises me.
