There was a lot of concern for Diet drinks, in general. The concern was with the aspartame. Someone claimed it made people prone to brain cancer. However, the Cancer Society of Canada has released the allegations that it was all a prejudice. There was no cause, direct or indirect, of brain cancer by aspartame.
Still, I see a lot of people drinking diet drinks nowadays. I believe it had everything to do with people wanting to keep a good shape - true it is, real pepsi contains too much sugar to handle on the regular basis. For keeping a good shape and for reducing the chances of diabetes, it is totally justified to use diet pepsi. However, why do we still see so many young and well-shaped people us the diet pepsi? What's the deal? Could aspartame be addicting?

I think drinks like Pepsi have side effects when they are taken at greater amounts.
I like to have diet Pepsi due to the reason that it is much light and feels good to have. I knew that in some countries pepsi is totally banned. This was due to the excessive amount of soda which can cause many bad effects like ulcer and cancer.
But I didn't know what it contains that causes these ailments.
It is true that diet Pepsi helps to maintain shape and we don't become overweight.

The dangers of aspartame poisoning have been a well guarded secret since the 1980s. The research and history of aspartame is conclusive as a cause of illness and toxic reactions in the human body. Aspartame is a dangerous chemical food additive, and its use during pregnancy and by children is one of the greatest modern tragedies of all.
Why haven't you heard about aspartame poisoning before? Partly because the diet industry is worth trillions of American dollars to corporations, and they want to protect their profits by keeping the truth behind aspartame's dangers hidden from the public. When NutraSweet® was introduced for the 'second' time in 1981, a diet craze revolutionized America's eating protocols and a well-oiled money machine was set into motion changing modern lifestyles.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well i do not know whether the research is true or not but i strongly feel that having diet pepsi will have an adverse effect on our health. In fact it is not only the diet pepsi that will make people prone to brain cancer but all soft drinks are not safe for our health. No doubt they are refreshing drinks but they need to be taken on a safer level. People should be aware of this thing and be watchful before having soft drinks.
What say?

It is just not soft drinks that are bad for us. There are a lot of juices out there, that also contain a ton of sugar. Then there is also bottled water, that isn't good for the body. Oh hell even tap water isn't that great for us. Since they don't have to test it, once its all been filtered. some things are okay all the time and some only in moderation.
