Any proper resources on mutual funds?

I have been interested about learning the investment stuff for quite a while. A lot of companies, with various pricing, claim they offer the best services and education in that field. However, I can't seem to find any reliable resources.
There must be some official authority in the field of mutual funds. Hence, they would have the best-quality education. If anybody has found something that has worked for them, I would like to learn more. Open to any of your suggestions.
So far, I like how Investors Group is standing on mutual funds - very reliable and successful company. However, there are always high risks involved with mutual funds, since this a volatile type of income. But volatile also means "higher income" in comparison to the more reliable longer-term investments.

I haven't researched funds in a long time, but my suggestions is to pick up some current financial magazines like Money or Kiplinger's to learn about different funds. Talk to friends that are investing. Maybe join an investing group (online or in person). You really need to know what your goals are: are you trying to earn a lot of money fast? Or are you trying to put money away and to watch it grow? I watch a lot of CNBC, and Suze Ormond is a great financial planner. While she doesn't recommend any specific funds, she will help you get on the right path to being smart with your money.

I'm happy that you found my suggestions helpful! I had to teach myself a lot; I was inspired after I took a financial planning class in college. I'd love to get back into it again-I really learned a lot from the Suze Ormond show. She's written several books that you can pick up at your local library. Good luck!
