learning the basics to the cello

I have recently started to grow more and more intrested inlearning how to play the cello but before i can even learn the very basics (feel free to add the basics) i need to know what to look for in a cello i imagine this will not be a easy instrument to play let alone master but im curious non the less any help is greatly appreciate thank you for your help in advance
