There are no cops near churches in my country. There`s no problem and nothing will happen. Other things take place as protests go here. But not on Christmas. We have problems in education and people need better wages. But on Christmas we rejoice.

We have very similar situation here in Pakistan not only on Christmas but also on every other religious feast. This has been happening for more than a decade now and we see it as a result of our government's involvement in the so called war on terror.

It is a blessing that you care...In my country the Synagogues all have off duty police to protect them for major holidays and have had for as long as I can remember. It is a sad statement of humanity, that this has to be done. If they are not there, there will be attacks and are. By the way, I live in the USA...

They actually celebrate on Dec. 25 of the Julian calendar, which is Jan 7 on the Gregorian calendar. The Orthodox didn't change to the Gregorian system, while Catholics (and later Protestants) made the switch.

In my country it is not necessary to have this extra security on Christmas (I hope).
I hope that your community will not see violence on this day. How horrible when terrorists try to make a statement at the expense of innocent people on a holiday! How can they justify themselves?
I remember last year I was in Afghanistan on the 10th of Moharram and the Shi'ites were having a march for their biggest holiday. They met up in a mosque and were attacked by bombers there. Such a sad day, it still makes me tear up to remember it. We lost many brave ones that day.
I had a neighbor who was in the national army but was at the mosque to celebrate that day. He saw what looked to be a bomber near a group of children. He tackled the bomber and was able to prevent the deaths of those around him, but he sacrificed his life on that day.

hi Devilova oh how dreadful bombing a church, how sick.No
I do not think I have ever heard of a church being bombed
here in the USA. The very thought sickens me. Why would
anyone want to do such a horrible thing? I hope it does
not happen in your country any more. that is so sad.

Because we have the freedom to worship as we please, we don't need police to protect our churches. Besides, we have God's protection.
