hi to all well, I don't know this kind of discussion is allowed here or not, But I started anyway, as you knew I'm from Pakistan so our culture is similar to Indians But very different from USA or UK, having your own Convenience is very helpful for you IF you go for some Wedding & Parties, Its OK If you spend some more time with relative & friends you don't have any fear If you are getting late there is no more Taxis & you have to pay Double fares...Sadly, I don't have my own car or bike, But I planned to buy soon...what about you guys??? do you have your own cars or bike??? have a nice day...

Hi,having a private car is so convenient in most cases, for example,if you want to go somewhere far away, you have to take a bus and of course it will take you a lot of time. However if you have a car of your own,you can reach the place you want to go directly instead of transfering other transportations.I just bought a new car on July.It really does a great help in winter.

Sometimes it's hard to know what myLot will delete. This might get deleted because it's similar to a poll--a question that can be answered by saying yes or no. To make it a discussion you should say that you are thinking of buying a car and say what kind of car you would like compared to what you can afford, or something like that. Then ask what kind of a car people have, or what kind of transportation they use. I got my first brand new car when I was 50. Before that I always had to buy really old used ones but they lasted a long time because I took very good care of them. I don't think I'll get another car as I'm 58 now and my Toyota will probably last until I quit driving.

Yes, I own a car and I'm glad I do. It's so much more convenient than having to depend on others to get me where I want to go.

I do own a car but here it is somewhat of a necessity, especially since my son is in a wheelchair. My neighbor does not own a vehicle of any sort though and she uses public transit to get around. I am thinking it might be cheaper to not have a car because of all the expenses. If I lived in a bigger city, I think I would choose to not have a car anymore. I do own a bike too. I would probably only use that if I lived in a larger city where everything was more convenient - or if I didn't need to transport my son.

I don't have my own car.We have a couple of bikes and our kids drive them.I don't like driving bikes.I like to drive a car, that too my own car.I am now planning to have my own car,but it seems it would take some time to buy a brand new car.My kids also want to buy car.We would have bought one by now,but skyrocketing prices are prohibiting us to realize our dream.

I don't have cars. Well, if I got a lot of money from my work online, maybe I could buy a car. It takes time and year, but I am just wait and be patience and then, work it hard to achieve that goal.

It is hard to go to places without a car, mot especially that I have four children. So even though prices are up for gas, it is really something that is necessary for everyday use.

hi, as of now i still don't have a car and i don't have plan to buy if i could have a chance or if i could have an enough money,i just don't like to drive because i am afraid to drive, and aside from that i don't have any idea about the maintenance of a vehicle so better for me not to buy one.

I own a car here in a country where owning a car is expensive. Here in the Philippines specially at our region, they say owning a car is like rearing a child.

in hanoi, beside the petrol problem, the car owner has to care where to park their car since house and streets in hanoi are small..., the price to rent a packing place is expensive also.

Hello Tushavi! I do have a bike and a scooter ( not the motorcycle kind ) but I rarely use that. I used to ride my scooter down my street because it was a bit of a hill but I don't do that anymore. My dad is the main one to help me get to where I want to go for I do not have a car at the moment. If he can't then I would catch a bus or train and last resort would be to call a taxi if I was really desperate. I can not wait to get a car though because I don't like asking for favours and it would be great to feel independant. Happy MyLotting. ~AussieGal~

No. I just use public transportation but it would be nice to have one. We used to own one which we were able to get on installment but had to give it up due to high cost of gasoline and monthly amortization.

I had a lancer but had to go since it was a Mitsu 1982 model. Now I have a cheap assembled jeep. Maintaining a car in our country, Philippines is expensive considering the high fuel price and parts. Despite that, I maintain this car because I need it badly. Buses and taxi can't be relied upon especially on emergency situations and for more convenience.

As far as I can remember I already owned more than 20 cars...i bought them at a lower price then I sell them (buy and sell)...really a good source of income as well...you can use the car, you bought if cheaply then if somebody like it you can sell it to them with a few additional cash. Then you buy a new car again, that's how I cycle my car ownership...

I have my own car and would not be able to work if not. I travel from town to town for my job, so it is very necessary that I own a car. I live in the U.S. and a lot of people in New York City and the larger cities of the East and West coast don't have cars because the city provides bus, subway, trains, and cabs. I live in Oklahoma and work in Texas. Most of the towns that I work in are very small and there are no mass trans systems, not even cabs. However, if someone didn't have a car and were there, they could walk most places or ride a bike. In the smaller towns, it is safe to ride places with friends and neighbors.

I don't but i really wish of having one. Cars have now become an important part of our life. I want my own car so then i do not have to depend on any one to drive me through but the problem which i am facing is that they are too much expensive for my liking. Hope i get a cheaper car soon. Thanks for sharing.
