Have you tried to taste or smell a durian fruit? As I know this fruit is very nutritious and it is also considered as a anti-cancer fruit, but most people did'nt try it because of it's unique odor. In my first try of Durian I really threw it from my mouth I can't take it's odor and taste but as I taste it many times since it's my parents and my siblings' favorite fruit, I always tried it because I'm really curious why my relatives what it, then I tried again and this time I found it tasty! LOL now it's also my favorite and I'm addictive to it, in our country there is a certain place you will get this fruit with a good grow/breed? so we can't get it always, I'm always requesting it to my father. Have you tried this one? Can you share how's your first taste of this fruit? Sorry for my English, I can't translate some of words of mine but I hope you understand it. Merry Christmas Mylotters, Enjoy! :D

prashu228 it is not jack fruit, durian thorns is really hard that can cause injury, not like jackfruit it has soft thorn and has a sweet smell. Durian has a different smell that you will not like I think when you smell, but it is tasty? I think LOL and it is heathy fruit! :D

I haven't tasted the raw fruit yet. What I have tasted is the durian candy. I guess I can say that it is satisfactory and I will try it again of given the chance. I've yet to taste the raw fruit. I haven't had the chance to get my hands on them.

I've seen a guy on travel channel try it a few times and he can't stomach it. He says it is worse than stinky feet. This guy will eat live bugs but can't stomach that fruit.

Hi I never tasted durian fruit. But The picture seems/resembles the jack fruit which we call in our country. Is durian the jack fruit? or related family. Jack fruit has very good sweet smell.

I remember long time ago when I ate the durian, I didn't like it at all because it had a terrible smell for me. I didn't get used to that smelling and I didn't understand why people would enjoy eating this fruit. But later when I tried it again, it was not so awful. And as time goes by, I start to like this fruit.

I have never tried Durian before, though I have heard of it. None of our supermarkets carry this fruit and neither is it found at any of the local farmers markets in the summer. I would love to try this fruit. What fruit family is it from? How is that you didn't like the taste at first, but now you do? What is the texture? I wonder if I could order it online somewhere. It would be an interesting fruit to try.

To be honest, even though I am a Filipino, I haven't tasted Durian because I really don't like its pungent odor. I've eaten Durian candy, though. It tastes good and the smell is more tolerable than the real fruit itself.
