Yesterday, we celebrate Christmas with laughter and cheers. To capture the moment, there should be a cam involve to have picture taking. When I review the pics I took. I've seen an orbs in 1 pic. What do you think guys? Was there a ghost in our house? (see the attach pic, in the curtain was 1 orb. Don't mind my face, too ugly, hehe)

Your such a sweet sis :) yah I do have 2 cutie kids already.
Yah, I don't believe in ghosts actually. Were living here for 8 months in pur new home and I don't feel like a bad vibes or ghosts living here. It's maybe a speck or so on. Is there a lot of ghosts in your country? Just curious :)

that's (most likely) a grain of dust or a fluff on the lense of your camera. Since that little particle (at that distance from the lense) is pretty much out of focus it appears as a blurred circle. You can artificially create such a situation again if you put a grain of dust on the lense and take a photo. You could also use a colored marker to paint a small dot on the lense. This way you should end up with a colored ''orb'' (haven't tested that myself though).

I think you'd be surprised to see how big something on the camera lens has to be before it will show up in a picture. I really was when I saw this post earlier this year! http://kurtmunger.com/dirty_lens_articleid35.html
The only way that a small speck of dirt or fluff would show up is if it was right on the image sensor, but it wouldn't really look like that. The orb in this photo looks more like lens flare to me. If you look at the right edge of the picture, there's another small spot over the white curtains.

uhm, I regularly film with my camcorder, so I'm aware of what it looks like when stuff is on the lense. But to be sure I just tested it and made a small speck with a marker on the lense. It looks pretty much the same as in the picture above. Also, the blurring depends on how much you zoom in or out. The more you zoom in the more blurring.

FrugalMommy, I'm not somebody who automatically dismisses the paranormal but I really think you have a point. I also noticed the bright light in the top right and suspected that the "orb" was a lens flair from it.

I got a lot of photographs with orbs in them in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher (this is a church in Jerusalem which is thought to contain the actual tomb in which Jesus was buried). I don't know if they were dust or lens flairs or what.

I saw that on the curtain, it may may not be ghost, if you visit pages of Society of ghost hunters you can see many such pictures..ghosts do exist,in a different plane; most are harmless, i believe in them, have seen them, 2 ghosts live in a tree in my home, all in my family know them, they are harmless and part of family
You are cute, why you think you are too ugly hehehe

I can see how these could be explained by lens flairs (result from pointing camera at bright lights) or light reflecting from bits of dust. Does this account for all of them? Not sure. There's another phenomenon know as rods where weird corkscrew type things appear in photographs. In moving pictures, these things move rapidly. Some people say these are out of focus insects flying across the picture but I've yet to see anybody demonstrate that such pictures can be produced this way (i.e. by deliberately getting insects to fly in front of cameras). It's possible that orbs and rods are related weird phenomena.

hi,
when i was a kid yes,i always think that the orbs or light or shadow is a ghost in the picture, that is why i hate to capture pictures in a dark place to avoid capture different orbs, but until that kind of feeling still in me so sometimes i hate to be alone in a picture especially when i know the place is something scary.

when there are orbs or light formation in in photos taken i would not think that these are ghosts but rather these are lights formed due to bad lighting or something.
thes were common when we were still usong films sometimes these were also due to the developing process of the prints. Now i think these are rarely happening because lenses are focused... They are pf higher quality nowadays and can be viewed right away soon as the picture is taken.

If there is no other reason for the orbs then it might be a ghost. All other possibilities would need to be erased first. Could it be a reflexion? Or other possibility?

There is a logical explanation for orbs in photographs they are definitely not ghosts. Its caused by light from the flash being reflected by dust, pollen or water particles . It happens more often when the lens and the flash are close together as it makes it directly illuminate particles in front of the camera.I don't know why the idea it is caused by ghosts has become so widespread as it has a very simple explanation. I would find it more understandable if it was an explanation of something very complicated.

Well, I am a believer in ghosts and after looking at the picture that you've shared, I would say that the spot in your picture was most definitely an orb and not just dust that was in the room.
You see, I do think that there are a lot of times that pictures will have what could be orbs, but they are actually dust in the room. However, as you've said there was only one picture with an orb in it and the orb that you've shared does somewhat look like it has a face on it.
Me, I've been to a bar before that is considered to be one of the most haunted places in the US and we captured a lot of different pictures with orbs in them and one of the orbs that I've got a picture of actually looks like it has horns as well.

I have seen ghost/spirits out of the corner of my eye and have felt their energy when they pass through me. I have never seen an orb personally though. I'm not too sure but it might be a blue light coming from outside the window.

Putting this in a photography perspective, we were taught back then in my College days when we had photojournalism as our major those images over photographs are made by lighting. Sometimes it is also triggered by location’s dusts, mostly when triggered or fired by flash, the camera bounces of the images that has some dusts on it causing an “Orb” like feature.

Happy Holidays!:) You are celebrating Christmas because of the birthday of Jesus. So I guess you shouldn't think about ghost whatsoever. Better yet enjoy the Holidays and attract Good vibes:)

I am a firm believer in ghosts so my answer would be a definite yes that is an orb which is a ghost.
But not all people believe in all of that...
And your face is not ugly at all!

I believe in ghosts but if it comes to that no I never think of a ghost. There are at my wedding picture, someone said it's the ghost of my husband's mother, so she was present. To be honest I don't believe that.
