Christmas Dinner Menu??

This year we decided to change our Christmas dinner menu from the traditional turkey and dressing and such to tamales, chili, chips and salsa. It was a real hit with the family--much more casual and less labor intensive. May be the beginnings of a new tradition for us!

We had the traditional turkey with all the trimmings this year, but it's the first time in awhile. We used to have turkey for both Thanksgiving and Christmas, then we got tired of having it so much, so started having ham for Christmas instead. Then I started reacting to pork and can no longer eat it, so we were kind of stuck. We wound up having a seafood bash or a big pot roast or things like that. It was nice this year to just go with turkey again.

We love turkey and dressing, and ham too for special meals and holidays, but the ease of the meal today was a real blessing.
