People make fun in the gas station stereotype as for example, but what they don't realize is how much of an accomplishment it is. These people who had to learn English as a second language, and here they are thriving in a foreign land. I applaud it. Not only are Indian people good natured, but I love other parts of their culture as well. I like the fact that they are quiet. You never need to call the police to complain about your Indian neighbors as for example. I also like the fact that they have such strong family values, and how focused they are on education. I love their desire to achieve. I think this country would be a whole lot better if more Americans were half as intelligent and motivated as the average Indian in this country. Luckily, there is a cure for this problem-books. :)

Hi there. Thanks a lot for appreciating Indians like us. But to be true, there were times that I feel ashamed to be an Indian. Sorry to say this. But, as they say, a coin has two sides.. Well, with the recent stuffs going on around here, i do not want to live in India anymore.

Its really encouraging for people like me, who are indian, particularly when someone of other part of the world appreciate indian. The prime strength in indian culture is definitely family value, which bonds us with our parents as well as kids. Apart from that unlike materialistic thinking, mostly indian people try to discover the art of living by practicing prayers, yoga etc. In the same time, it is also a fact, in today's global era, you can hardly find someone pure in nature, so its also recommended to mix with persons after checking his/her mannerism at least. Anyway, as you like indian people, i wish you to come india too and find some beautiful ancient cultures too. Thank you for your appreciation.

I agree that Indian Culture is definately a rich one. I am from Canada and the city I grew up in has a lot of Indian people. Most of my friends growing up were of Indian decent. However, most of the Indian people I know were born in Canada. So they are very Canadian with an Indian spice. Speaking of Indian spice... I love Indian food.

Haha thanks for this discussion. I love Indian people too! However, I wouldn't make lots of generalizations about Indian people in America. Some are successful, some are not. Some are intelligent, some are not! But I think it is true that there is more of a focus on family and education in most Indian families. I think that the family part comes from the culture, but the education might have to do with those who have migrated here. Many were able to become successful due to their own focus on education and they instill this mantra that education is a proven way to succeed into their children. I think that Americans are more likely to be skeptical of education and point to people like Bill Gates who became rich despite dropping out of college.

Thanks for you complement and the remarks about Indian as I am also Indian.I am really very proud that prople who are going abroad also they are not forgeting the culture of mother land.Actually the fact is our culture is very traditional and we never give us more importance then the people surronding us which makes us very unique. Our life style is very simple so never cause problem for other.India has a mixed culture and even while staying within India we have to make adjustment with different cultures. So Indian people do not find any difficulties to adopt the culture and life style where ever they reside in world.
