choose servant carefully

Servants should be employed after proper background & reference check only.We never know still what is going on during our absence...moreover children tend to pick up certain unacceptable habits under the domestic helps influence which we should always keep monitering.

That is so true. That is also one of the reasons why I would rather take care of my kids on my own than rely on anybody's help. There could be a lot seeking employment to be a nanny for the kids, but I would rather just be the one taking care of them or entrust them to any of my husband's siblings. For the last 5 years, I have not gotten any house help anymore coz I feel that those who might be wanting to be one is either having intentions of stealing from you or just making their job as a way of looking for lost relatives or in finding a much better-paying job.

There are so many scary people in the world but it is nice to find the gems that are still left. You do have to do a background check before trusting a person with your children or your home. Do you also check with police departments or similar to check criminal records before hiring?

That's really sad watching on tv that there are children being kidnapped and I agree with there must be careful selection of persons to hire. Hope those kidnappers and other bad people will change.

Hi yes we cannot believe everyone these days. In the previous days servants used to be very helpful and kind. They never used to demand anything. But now the time has changed they are demanding and if we keep them for mopping or sweeping the floor they ask us to buy the electric cleaner. For washing clothes they need washing machine. I think even for washing utensils they may ask for dish washer in future. They are not even looking after the kids properly .Kids are not safe anymore with them.

Yeah, here in our country there are some agencies were they required household or nannies to provide their NBI National Bureau of Investigation) Clearance as a proof that this nanny or household has no derogatory record and there's no case or background in criminal activities so they are fit and so they are being trusted by their employer .

In the USA it is unusual to have servants unless you are wealthy. The most experience I have had with this is a house cleaner who came once a week and of course my child care person who kept my children in her house until I got off work each day. I was very lucky with each of the people who filled these jobs. No one stole or broke anything, my children were happy and it worked out well. Of course we were in a town in the country, not a large city where there are more chances for things to go wrong. We also never had live in help.

some servants may turn out to be kidnappers as well. So, we have to be really careful when employing them. Maid providing companies cannot be reliable either when maids they provided ran away with some properties.

I definitely agree with you that we have to be very careful when it comes to the choice of individuals that will be allowed to care for our children. When Kathryn was younger we had a babysitter that I thought was wonderful on interview and only later did I learn that she was emotionally abusing my daughter. From that point on, I was a lot more careful when it came to the caregivers that I chose for my daughter and later for Paul.

Servants these days are a rate commodity and as you said it is difficult to get good servants. They start well but end up being a pain in the neck. I have always had servants who have stayed with me for years. They have left to get married but now I am finding it extremely difficult to get anyone that would suit my needs. I do have casual help.

Hi!! you are right here in my city the servants/drivers are the major people who do all kinds of criminal activities from petty theft to man slaughter.Its always better to have a servant whom we know of our friends recommend than some unknown person.

yes you are right,we should get every detail of the servant we hire.now crime is at alarming rate,anything can happen at any moment.child must be taught that they should not trust strangers and go away with them,this is very important.great care must be taken of these things

Hi ros, Is kidnaping doing in your country too? When will this heinous bussiness wipe out from the world? How much time have we to suffer? How much time have we to remain cautious for? Is the world getting gradually more uncivilized?

I totally agree that those who hire maids would do it carefully to avoid from being abducted, robbed, or any other criminal thing done by those people who pretended to be nice and in need of work but actually is trying to get a chance to robbed you off. I would never hire a nanny for my daughter. I rather do it myself even though it means less income co's it's only hubby who is working. I would rather have less of cash that getting my baby hurt.

There are servants who turn out to be thieves. They will stay in your house, observe you for a time, where you put your valuables, and steal them little by little and when they get their hands on something really big, they run away.

Yes, you are very right we never have had any servants I have always done everything myself. I am very cautious of whom my family is around so of my friends say that I am too protective and you know what that's fine and yes maybe I am but with the way the world is now a days I dont think you can be too careful.
