What makes you reply to a mylot discussion?

What do you look for when you log on to mylot? I search for particular topics which i am finding harder to find. This is not a reflection on the people on mylot, more a reflection on the medication i am on which i feel inhibits my ability to respond.
I appreciate that traffic on mylot is slower these days but i much prefer to respond rather than start discussions as my discussions do tend to be wayward for the want of a better discreption!
Do you find that you now start more discussions than respond or vice versa?
Or has nothing changed for you?

I look for topics of my discussion. I look for good topics and good discussions. Most times it depends on my mood whether to reply to a discussion or start a discussion. Some days I start a lot of discussions and while some days I reply to discussions. There are days I would like to comment on discussions rather than starting or replying to discussions.

I come and go from mylot. I am finding this time around that things are much slower. I do a mixture of starting discussions and responding to others. I usually go to my interests and go from there :)
I am sorry your medication is making you feel that way. I hope things improve for you!

the medication is good for me. i am not crazy with it, rather it was the effects before medication that has slowed me up. bad luck more than anything else.
i think you have the right blend. i try to go friends, then responded then new then top and hot, but i struggle so much to be original.
No reflection on mylot, rather me.

I struggle with that as well. I sometimes feel like my topics should appeal to more people then they do and I wonder why. Is it how I phrased it or is it because it has been done before and people are tired or responding to the same types of questions?
I hope things work out well for you with your "bad luck"!

I mostly reply to discussions that catch my eye or those I relate to. If there are already 30 replies to any discussion, I usually don't comment on those. If there is a discussion that is similar to what has happened to me, also, I will share.
I haven't started many conversations. I just can't seem to think of any topics that would gain lots of responses. Oh well.

When I start a discussion...oh, wait. I never started a discussion! Well then, moving right along, I usually start with my email notifications, the ones I get.
After that I check the friends started to find the ones I didn't get. And then I just kind of roam around. If I'm stressed out (like I am these days) I can't respond to more serious discussions because I can't think. So I stay the with the easier, lighter stuff. I don't typically respond to discussions that have more than 2 pages because I have to read what everybody else wrote first. I find it avoids redundancy. And saves the author some time in reading duplicate responses. But I really wanted to respond to this and I read the first 3 pages. Whew. A couple of cans of Red Bull helped out. Sorry your medication is affecting you that way. And I love your avatar. It's the most evil looking Santa I've ever seen. It actually gave me a little start when I saw it up close.

Well, I only respond on topics that somehow got my attention. But the majority of topics is not worth it to respond. Not too often I start a discussion as well. Like last week I had a terrible argument with my best friend. Not going to make that a topic here because it's so personal, what can others say about it? If I start a topic I must have the idea that it might be usefull for others as well.

Dear ajk
My first preference is the friends I have. I hop onto their discussions first and if there arent any more, I hop on to the ones which catch my attention (going by the headlines) and then the interests.
I feel that I am neither participating much nor starting too many discussions these days...

Hello there ajk111!
I reply to discussions that I have interests in. I also reply to the topics that my friends make. It really varies everyday what topic do I reply. I do not start a discussion when I do not really feel making one right away. When I make a topic, I try to respond to all thanking them or just changing thoughts.
Happy Lotting and advance Happy New Year!

I don't really mind if I create or respond to discussions. As long as I find a topic interesting, then I reply to it. If something happened to me which I think is interesting or if I want to hear other people's opinions and thoughts then I start a discussion.
As long as a topic is interesting and it's something I can relate to, I'll immediately reply to it :)

Hi ajk!
Personally, I don't start much discussions because I want to monitor closely those discussions that I started. I want also to give time to the discussions that my friends started to be able to interact with them.
There are just topics that is not my field so even some of them came form my friends, I am sad that I cannot participate on those discussions.

I usually respond to discussion which interest me or when I have knowledge to respond to it. I responded to discussion far more often that starting a topic discussion, it's kind of difficult to think about the theme / topic of good discussion, since I don't make the discussion out for the sake of making discussion. I want to make my discussion worth and useful for other people who might have same problem or to raise the knowlege for other people.

Depends on the topic, ajk. I'm passionate about things in life, love, politics (I catch grief with some here on my liberal views...but who cares?!) I love responding to those topics that move me. I'll admit that some topics I started didn't make sense, but I thought it was fun anyways.

I don't Usually log in mylot. I respond and comment through my email notifications. If I have very limited mylotting time, I will cooment first for the comments wriitten by my friends . Then read discussion from my email notifications those that are easy to respond and next those hard to post response and some discussions that needed comprehensive responses and even references link. Usually if health discussions I use links for a more accurate responses

I log in to Mylot just to read some new post members have posted, read them grasp some knowledge and share my views on what other have written. And of course by doing so I knew I will earn some amount too. Not big but ok for what I have mentioned.

I'm not sure if this is really a "change," but I spend about half my time here on my own started-discussions (only starting 1-to-3, replying to others' responses the rest of the time) & half the time on others' started-discussions (a lot of the time on discussions related to my own discussions, sometimes on the 'friends started'-, hot- or 'new user'-tabs, and everyday I check my email replies to my responses in those discussions).
If there's no more replying or responding to be done, I check my email for all my friends started-discussions & start responding to those.
And also, Sabbath (which I take from Friday night to Sunday morning) throws the rules out the window. During the week, I'll type any extra questions into a text-file (in case I've already started all the questions I want to that day). But on Sabbath, I just start discussions with all those questions---unless I don't feel like it

I reply discussions and as well as like to start discussions.I start discussions only if i have to say something or i have some doubts.
First i check those discussions which i start whether they had initiated by others or not and then i start discussions. And if it is not so,then i prefer responding to others and discussions should be of my interest.

I find that i like to respond to posts rather than start more discussions. At first, i though i would be doing this for money but after a while, i find that i do it for fun instead of earning cash~ Thats why i hope to have much much more fun in mylot from now on
