Clarke has amassed upto 1550 runs this year with four double centuries which include a triple ton. His this year average is better than Bradman of 99.4. He is making a hell of a run now a days. Cook on the other hand has just amassed 580 runs in 4 test matches. The way he is playing, he can nearly notched upto 1800 runs in 2013 keeping in mind that they have to play maximum cricket at their home with 5 matches of Ashes.
Cook, if remain injury free can break Sachin records of Tests. Cook is the one that makes huge runs in a series.

We can not predict the future.I absolutely agree with you that Cook is in the form of his life and playing very good cricket and did exceptionally well aginst India but it is very difficult to say that he can break Sachin's record.Whatever Sachin achieved is not comparable with anyone and its very difficult to achieve that. There are many examples of players who played very good cricket for one or two years and vanished in cloud.I am not saying Cook can not achieve that milestone, but its really difficult task.

Sachin records are nearly massive and anybody who can break his records has to played well for nearly 15 years. A player would be on his last leg when he would be able to break Sachin records. Just because of his age, technique, skills and temperament, I said, he may come to near Sachin records in test.

Yes, Alastair Cook too has been in a terrific form. He has proved that he can play well on English pitches as well as outside. Even in tough conditions like the one against India in Ahmedabad test, he played well. He has shown a good temperament and arguably is the best England batsmen as of now.
