I read a news in Times of India, 40 new speed cams along e-way to catch the fast and furious. The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation will soon install security camera's along 95 km Mumbai-Pune express highway and tickets to speeding erring vehicle owners. This move is a part of a bunch of emergency security measures to be put in place in the wake of yet another grace some accident that killed two welknown Marathi actors and a child on Monday. The actors are Anand Abhyankar and Akshay Pendse. The small kid killed in the accident was Akshay's two year old son. It's a very very great loss to Marathi film Industry. Irresponsible truck driver dahsed their car mercylessly resulting into the lives of these three.State hopes stricter patrolling will bring down the fatalities.

I think accidents happened in almost every country in the world in 2012. My country is one of many countries where accidents frequently happened. I guess 2012 has had lots of accidents and calamities.

Hard to believe there are more accidents. They happen every where and throught the years also the amount of cars/cardrivers are increasing. So more traffic, more (almost) accidents. Many cardrivers are bad ones also (a part of the drivers have no experience, a part is able just to buy the license). I wonder why people always blame truck drivers. Ever been driving in a truck? Do you know how hard it is? How less you can actually see? How many car drivers (not to forget motorcycle drivers) put other drivers into danger? How less tolerant many drivers are and push, or drive their car just in front of a truck? And why is the 2 year old son of a famous person a great loss but the one of not VIP not? Also I wonder what you mean by: mercylessly ... it sounds as if the truck driver did it on purpose!

Yes it's hard to believe but this is the fact. Truck driver has lost his balance and came from wrong side which was not dream t by the car driver at all. The truck driver has lost his control and direction and directly hit the car and that too in the early morning. I do not mean to say that the truck driver has done it purposely but he is to be blamed entirely and not the car driver.Other things what so ever you have mentioned are very very true. The only option left with us to drive cautious as far as possible. After all it;s a destiny which one has to accept whether mistake of anybody. Now that truck driver will be punished but that punishment will not give lives to all the three again. That small kid has not seen the world so far.

I saw the same reports on Mexico a few days ago. Here we have had 35 % more traffic accidents, but many here feel its because the age to drive was change from 18 to 16 this year.

Its sad to see people loosing their lives due to accidents/ negligence of others. Prime accused of such incidents too should be treated with more severity and punishment to be actually imposed. Installing cameras can help in investigation but monitering of traffic flow during odd hours is equally important.

Indian government should take steps to avoid road accidient.I have one suggested,All car should be inbuilt control driving while manufacturing.if driver go to above limit, the car enginee should be automaticaly control the speed.

i know this might even be true not only for India, but also here in Philippines. ever since the motorcycles have been one of the most wanted ride.. because its convenient, cheaper, and has lower maintenance as well... many has opted to use them but they aren't taking extra care and precautions like buying a good helmet... and many motorcycle riders are just too proud as they ride too fast, they beat the red light, they always try to get ahead of buses, and cars, and trucks thus causing accidents.

I think the main reason we have accidents here in the US is people talking and texting on their phones. I haven't looked but I would say there have been more car accidents in this past year alone. I"m sorry to hear about the actors and their child.

Wow. This is just too bad and accidents happen. Do these accidents mean that people are becoming more reckless as time goes by? Hmmm quite odd, because the more people should learn from mistakes even if from others.
