how much garbage do you make everyday?

There are days when we make a lot of garbage at home. It's these plastic wrappers that keep piling up. It gets worse when we buy take-out food because the food boxes can easily fill up our small garbage. How do you manage your trash at home? Do you segregate your garbage? I don't. My place is just small and having three garbage cans in there would make it even smaller.I would love to hear tips from you.

I don't have much trash. I live alone to begin with, but I cook from scratch most of the time so there are no food containers (or very few) to deal with. I reuse a lot of things and that helps. Also, I don't use paper towels or paper napkins or disposable anything that I can get by without. No aluminum foil or plastic wrap, things like that. I don't segregate the garbage. It's picked up once a week and I usually only put it out every other week because it isn't worth the trouble for a couple of grocery bags of trash.

I think we have a lot of dry garbage more than garbage that are soiled /wet. Usually when collected every Thursday we have about 3 plastic bag fulls of paper trash, cans, plastics, boxes, milk cartons and so on.

The more people, the more garbage. That is why our environment is already complaining.

I was very surprised when I first came here because every time i buy something at 7/11 they give too many plastic bags. One for my drinks and separately for my food. That's a lot of garbage. People here are fond of plastic bags and they give away too many. I live in an apartment building and they don't segregate garbage here at all.

We do have a lot of trash. We have a trash can in practically everyone. One in the office, two bathrooms, bedroom, and kitchen. I wish there was an easier way to keep the trash down but there isn't. I use to recycle before we moved. But now where we live there is no recycling that comes this way, so everything goes in the trash unless I try to save it and reuse it as containers or art projects.

Trash management is really a problem with me since trash usually is the favorite breeding place of rats, roaches and ants.

I'm happy that even though we have a lot of trash throughout the day we can take outside to the dumpster every day if we wanted to. So it keeps the house in order and I don't have to worry about having to wait until a particular day for the trash company to come which is nice. And we haven't had any problems with pest. Just the other day there was a organic preventative spray.

We are lucky where we live, as we are heavily into recycling, we have to separate the food waste, the tins, the bottles and glass and the papers and card, we have weekly collections, then there's the normal household waste. There is three of us and each week we always have full boxes and bags to leave out.

It is good for you there because you are really serious about segregation. In our area, there is not a lot of seriousness given to this issue.
