do you have time to nap in the afternoon?

I know some people always find time to have a nap in the afternoon. I would love to do this too, in fact, I do feel sleepy in the afternoon but because I need to accomplish tasks, I do not have time for this luxury anymore. Sometimes, I just lie down or rest for at most 10 minutes then I'd start moving again because I do not want to be late for any appointment and I need to allot time for commuting. How many of you here make it a point to take afternoon naps?

My husband and I frequently take afternoon naps, but I think we are entitled at 78 & 84 years of age.

i truly agree. my mother is an elderly lady. i know she does not sleep soundly at night. i urge her to have a nap in the afternoon which (i think) relaxes her.

I take a nap almost everyday. I can think and do things much better after a little nap, so in a way it saves time. After sleeping I can do things much better. However, if I am tired things may have to be redone.

you are lucky. to some extent you are right about the tiredness and the refreshing feeling after the nap.

When I was taking my previous antidepressant I was finding that I needed to nap regularly, in fact I would get up of a morning, have breakfast and would be ready to go back to bed again for a nap. It even affected my gym routine and I wasn't able to do the 3 sessions a week I'd come home and have a nap, whilst napping is good for repairing the muscles after a strenuous workout, it wasn't good for me in the long run. Fortunately the antidepressants I am on now work so much better in that I don't need to nap. I do have the time to nap but prefer to be on the internet instead.

i usually do not have time to take a nap in the afternoon... especially at work, there are no nap times. haha but of course if i am just at home i can have a nap anytime i want, not only in the afternoon - but then i usually don't take a nap because i will just be on mylot... or read new books than take a nap. i am okay with an 8 hour sleep. :D

No matter how much I stay up late, taking naps in the afternoon is something that I would want to do but can't seem to do. I don't know why I couldn't take naps. Could be that my phone is always next to me and friends message me all the time or the fact that my macbook is always on and i'm on it most of the time. Maybe if i stay away from those electronic gadgets i'd be able to nap.

I really cannot nap in the afternoon. I usually sleep or take a nap at night. I sleep late as well. However, if I'm really tired from travelling I also nap in the afternoon. :-) have a nice day!

When I was a stay at home mom and could nap during the afternoon, I never felt the need to do so. Now that I am working, I find myself tired in the afternoon but can't nap then...though all I need is a 10 minute power nap. I've been thinking about it and I realized that it is because ...when I was at home, I went to bed on time and got up early morning...I had enough hours of sleep...whatever my body needed. But now I have so much work that I am working late into the night and up early. I'm not getting enough sleep....because I am usually working weekends too.

I always try to nap with my kids during the day time if I can. It doesn't always happen since either one I'm alone with the kids or two I have other things that I need to do to get done for the day so I can sleep or I'm just not tired at all. For the most part I almost always get some kind of nap in.

Hi Shy. It's different when you have kids because it will all depend on when they sleep.

Not if your kids are on a routine then you sleep at the same time all of the time. Which is what my kids have.

Whenever I can I do have a nap in the afternoon. That way I can stay up later in the evening and chat with my friends in Holland. There's 6 or 7 hours between us.

Everyday we have one hour to have lunch and a little break in the noon. I will finish the lunch very quickly and then back to office to have a nap. I really cherish this time because it is so short.

I work in a shool,my classes are all in the morning,so I do not need to go to work in the afternoon. It has become a habbit to take a nap in the afternoon.I always feel so sleepy after lunch.Taking a little nap can keep me energetic in the afternoon. Some people said it is good for your health to take a little nap for 10 or 15 minutes after lunch.

I am unemployed right now, so I have all the time in the world to do whatever I want.; However, I try to avoid napping, because if I nap too much, I won't be able to sleep at night. I'd rather be able to stay up during the day, than to be up all night long.

I love my afternoon naps. I usually find that I must take my naps in the afternoon around 4pm. It's heck when I'm at work because the wave of drowsiness overtakes me, even when I am at work. 4pm is that time. Even if I have an all nighter and go to bed at 6am and wake up at 12 noon, I will still need a nap at 4pm. take a look and investigate the practice of poly phasic sleeping. it might help you.

I normally do not even have time to have proper sleeps so afternoon naps are actually very important to me. I normally try to have as much afternoon naps in a day as possible as i do not have much sleep at night due to working hours
