answering any poll type, silly what color are your eyes, favorite color, what does love mean to you questions. Do you think that if all the people that are sick of these posts stopped answering them then we could not have so many of them and maybe we could have some interesting discussions to reply to here? I admit that in the first week that I started here I was guilty of doing the same thing, but in my defense I joined MyLot before all of the guidelines and rules were posted. It seems like most people here disreguard those rules and I am wondering if there will come a point where they are penalized for this? I am having a hard time finding interesting discussions to comment on anymore. If you have good discussions that you would like to share please send me a friends request so I can check them out.

I share your sentiments. What I tend to do these days is that instead of going to the 'hot topics' section, which you really cannot trust, I'll look into the 'discussions my friends have started'. Else, I look for discussions started by friends of friends. That's a better way of finding more interesting topics.
It also makes me wonder how one can chalk up 1000 posts in a single day with such questions flooding the site? :P

That is what is difficult to me. Obviously I want to post, but how many times can I answer "What color is your hair?" ?

I like what hte earlier poster said about taking the ridiculous discussion and turning around into something that you can leave a quality response for. I think that I am going to try that :)

Hi, Courtlynn77. I feel your frustration. Some of the discussions do get sort of silly. This is in part due to the responses. "Do you like chicken?" does not have to be a Yes/No question. It can be responded to as "Yes, I like chicken because it is one of the healthy meats. This is the way I prepare it." Then go on to discuss how you cook it. there are ways to turn the simple question into a discussion if you are truly interested. If you are not at all concerned about the subject at hand, then just ignore the question and move on. I think everyone will catch on soon enough when they get no responses to their discussions or when they do not get paid for their one word responses. Also, if you report these nonsensical questions to MYLOT, I think they will remove them and clean up the database so the discussions that do not fall within the guidelines are out of our way. Thanks for opening this discussion.

Thank you for the response and for showing a better way to respond to the questions that are started without any thought put behind them :)

the problem with those discussions is that it keeps coming back over and over again almost everyday. even with some variations it can't hide the facts.
i'm not totally against it, sometimes we need to chill out and pretend to be like starting to learn the ABCs.

I have posted on a couple of your discussions. My problem is that when I first started I replied to everyone and thought it was fun. But then I realized there are only a few people who both to read replies to their discussions and even fewer that are actually interested in having a real discussion which I thought was the point in being here.
