Recently i read an article in a local news paper which was about American teenager shooting students of a school. The article mentioned that this all happened due to cruelty of this video game call of duty. For some extent this can be true. But i think with proper education and good parenting all of these could have prevented.

when i was young, we played "cops and robbers" a lot.
but none of us kids from before grew up to be cops and also robbers.
i don't believe in those games making the kids into killing machine either.
i grew up without any parent guiding me, and i played a lot of violent games
before. but i didn't became a bad person. kids decide for themselves how they want to grow up. parents are just there to guide. not to dictate or control the kid. ^__^

No, it isn't the video games per se. It's not like you can see a direct correlation between every person that ever played a video game, even that video game, and people that kill. But there is a correlation. It's just there are many factors at play. Seeing and participating in violence (by way of playing a video game) sets the stage. It gets the mind more accustomed to killing. It shows violence as an acceptable way of solving problems. It's not a one-to-one correlation, where if you have video games it will mean there will be a murderer, but I believe it's one of the major factors.
