It is annoying

India

Just now I returned from the get together with my 1962 Matriculation batch mates; tomorrow morning we are supposed to go to Hyderabad; I have bought tickets already ‘well in advance. I told about this get together here: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2734185.aspx?p=0 Now someone says, there will be ‘All India Strike’ tomorrow; if it happens; all roads will be blocked, there might be burning of public property, trains, bus services MIGHT be canceled; it is risky to go out. Well let’s support the cause for which they may do, to protest the gang rape of the poor girl in a moving bus in Delhi; the capital of India. She was shifted to a hospital abroad in the name of better treatment, she died there. But I am certainly not in support of this strike and the so called ‘bandh’. Tomorrow morning only we can know the truth; if some political party is going to do this than we can know in TV news might be in the 11pm version. Do you face such strikes, protests and bandhs? Just imagine the fate of the daily wage earner, patients on way to hospital and person like me who are supposed to travel. Your views on this? Please respond and share your views on this. My next discussion will be from Hyderabad only. Thanks in advance. Professor ‘Bhuwan’. . 30/12/2012

sometimes rallies are necessary to get the attention of the govt but i do not support violent ones. sometimes people in my country conduct violent rallies and they damage a lot of property. it's stupid and creates more problems than the one that they are rallying about.

Ultimately we pay for the property; but none realize this while they are burning buses etc

Hello my friend Professor2010 Ji, Well, as per our mythology we are in knee deep KALYUGA , and such things ought to happen. These are all naturals, a time will come, when deads will be lying on roads like stray dogs killed by trucks. No body will notice. Please take this also as a part of life else get up and raise to turn the table. Iknow like minded can do . May God bless You and have a great time [em]thumbup[/em

Hello my friend Professor2010 Ji, Well, as periodical cycles are complete, SATYUG has to come, but when, only creator knows. It is like day breaks and Night Falls, this cycle keeps on repetting , similarly after end of Kalyug, if there is no other Yug, then SATYUG has to replace present. Only lucky will start. May God bless You and have a great time

Your country will not be the only country going through this. If our country doesn't settle its financial and economic problems by tomorrow, then I know the people in this country are going to start multiple protests and riots. It will be dangerous, and things will get ugly. I have heard about what is going on in India, and your people do have every right to protest, so long as they do not block off streets and roads, but they are angry, and they want change. It is understandable after what has happened.

Hello Sir, It is good to know that the call for strike was just a rumour and you have started your journey already. It is really annoying when we are ready to go somewhere and everything planned in advance then we got information about an unexpected strike. In Delhi people showed their respect towards the girl in a peaceful way by marching silently, lifting the candle in hands. Delhi government took all measures to prevent any provocation from the side of public. Fortunately everything went on peacefully. The girl’s body cremated within hours after brought back to Delhi. Media was not allowed to show any visuals regarding the same and her family requested not showing any photos or anything revealing their identity. So the media was busy on showing the reactions by celebrities and other VIPs. Jaya Bachan cried infront of the media in between her speech. Take care of your health Sir. Please convey my regards to Maa. Have a pleasant trip and Happy New Year.

We also similar activities like this in our country which are done either in protest or in sympathy for something. Though these are usually done in a peaceful manner but to the commuting public these are sometimes meet with annoyance particularly when the delay will have a substantial effect on them.

Hi Professor, hope you have reached there safely by now. From your post I get to know about this strike in India. I don't know which time you are mentioning. I think it is not such a big issue here and all and it is given hype only in media and in online. In total common people had forget about this issue very earlier itself. I don't think it is the right way to show their opposing. Instead they could educate people in good way. Happy New Year.
