I know there were a lot of circumstances that made very difficult an organised armed uprising against the Nazis. Jewish people didn't expected what did happened. So they accepted the gradual discriminatory policies. When the transportations began, they were starved, with no money and with no arms. Acts of rebellion were punished by torturing children, relatives or collegues. Still, when there were no concrete chances for survival, the few that remained in the Warsaw ghetto began to fight, just to kill some germans and revenge some deaths. Why didn't more jews did this?

Hmmm does their religious belief something to do with this? I have seen three great movies about Jews and nazis the diary of Anne frank, life is beautiful and Shindler's List. One characteristics I noticed based on this movies were they we're not fighters. They believe more in religious beliefs although there was also a certain group that fought with the nazis.

Actually, you should do more research. A martial art Krav Maga was created by a Jew from Slovakia. He organized uprising against the oppressors in that region. Later on, he moved to Israel, once that state was recreated. Now, Krav Maga is an official fighting system of an Israeli army. Also, a lot of Jews from the Soviet side fought, and fought very well. Going until the middle of Germany, in fact. Do some research - you will find that history is not what you're taught in schools.

I am in the process of research now, so every information is useful. I will look for more information about Krav Maga. I know that there were some uprisings and attempts to resist. But still, don't you think that the number was too small? There were maybe thousands, when millions were killed.

The numbers in the Soviet Union were as many Jews as possible fighting for the Soviet Army. Come on!

A lot of the Jews there fought in the partisan guerrilla-like warfare.

I'm certainly no expert, but I've read some about the Holocaust. Some other Jewish people did fight. You should look up information on a concentration camp called Sobibor. They staged an escape where, I believe, 300 people got out. Many got killed by the mines surrounding the camp and another 600 weren't able to get out. I may not have all the details correct. But, it was a massive escape and they had to kill guards. There was a movie about it. Escape from Sobibor. I also believe a crematorium was blown up in Auschwitz. You should also look up Hannah Szenes (or Senesh) who was a Jewish paratrooper. One of 37, but she was the most famous. But, I think you gave a lot of reasons why more didn't fight. Of course, it's possible that more fought than we know, but they're stories haven't been told. Maybe someone else has more accurate information.
