Whenever I hear the song Wherever you will go by The Calling, it always makes me cry. This song is the last song I played in my guitar and I sang in front of my father. A week before he died, he asked me to sing and play a song for him. So whenever I hear this, it reminds me of our last moment together.
Is there a song that makes you cry? Please share.
So lately, I've been wonderin who will be there to take my place
When I'm gone, you'll need love, to light the shadows on your face
If a great wave should fall, it would fall upon us all
And between the sand and stone, could you make it on your own
If I could, then I would, I'll go wherever you will go
Way up high or down low, I'll go wherever you will go

I'm not familiar with that song. I will have to check it out. I can't think of a song that actually made me cry, but I have gotten choked up a few times.
Oddly enough one song that always chokes me up is from a Disney World attraction. Golden Dreams at the end of the American Adventure in EPCOT.
Oh and Just Breathe from Pearl Jam. I'm sure there are others, but I can't think of them right now.
Sorry about your father.

I am sure my father is happy now. This song reminds me of him that is why it makes me cry. I will check on the Just Breathe song by Pearl Jam. I think I know it from somewhere.

I think most times it's not the song itself that cause someone to cry. I think it is the memories attached to it that stir up the emotions. Songs that remind us of situations with family, friends, relationships, good times and bad times connect us back to what we were feeling at that time.

Yes I agree with you. Whenever I hear this song, I always remember the time that I was with my father. It is actually the last time that I see him. I guess its the most painful and unforgettable of all.

I listened now the song you mentioned and it touched me. Is beautiful.
There are some songs for me that sometimes make me shed a few tears, depending on my mood. "Where the wild roses grow" by Kylie Minogue and Nick Cave, "Have you ever really loved a women" by Bryan Adams, Shakira's "Don't bother".
The song on which I cried the most is a Romanian one, Friends by Vama Veche. I would've liked to translate a few lines, but it sounds lifeless in English...

There are lines from songs that I associate my life with. There are parts songs that make me think, make me laugh or make me cry too. I think that song that you had mentioned have a nice message. I will search it later and hear it if the hymn sounds good too.
Advance Hapyy New Year!

I get teary-eyed when we sing lots of songs in church because many of them are also associated with memorial services for my son and my father. One of those is "Because He Lives."
I also mist up when I hear "Autumn Leaves" and "The Sounds of Silence" because they are associated with past relationships. I would not want to still be with either person they remind me of, but the songs still bring back sweet memories.

There are praise and worship songs that really made me cry as well. Some of the Don Moen songs are really good. My personal favorite is higher wider deeper by citipointe. I am always teary eyed whenever I hear this song. It reminds me of how great God's love is.

I don't think I have ever heard that song before. I also cry at many songs if they touch the right parts of my heart.

I haven't heard that song before. I really can't think of any songs at this moment that bring tears to my eyes except for maybe one and not because of any particular reason other than it brings up some very sad memories for me..."wind beneath my wings" by Bette Mitler.
I'll have to look for the song that you shared on youtube and see what it does for me. Have a great night.

Wind beneath my wings is a very nice song. There is duo who sang this song, their own version and I really love it. It sends goosebumps to my skin. I will never forget their version of this song.

This is from a singing or talent contest show in the Philippines. It is called a Protege where a celebrity will help the contestant build their talent. The celebrity herself has a very good voice which is perfect when it comes to ballad songs. They had a duet and it receives a lot of positive reviews.

When my marriage was ending, there were several that made me cry. How about hearing "I'm gonna love you forever" when it's not true any more, for example?

Hello my friend Ji,
Well, departures are always sad. I share your sorrowness sincerely. But at teh same time, if you have to become great grand parents, earlier ones have to shift to heaven to accomodate others. No one can be immortal. This is only true, rest is false. This is our life. bear with this.
May God bless You and have a great time [em]thumbup[/em

No song make me cry now. I think that you cry because the memory attached with the song, not because the song. When I graduated, I and my friends sang one song, we cried very much. Now, I feel sad a bit when I listen it again. However, I don't cry.

I couldn't think of any songs that makes me always cry every time I hear it. It depends on my mood. If I'm lonely, even a happy song can mean a sad song for me and it can make my eyes teary.. there are songs that are really meaningful for us. the song you mentioned is familiar with me and I like the lyrics of the song. Sad to hear about your father.

Music is extremely powerful as it's a manifestation of the song artists emotions and I think a song is deemed successful but the emotional response it seeks to illicit. Obviously not all songs seek to illicit the same emotional response- some are love songs, lust, happiness, anger, sadness etc. but overall I think most music seeks to illicit some sort of reaction. But then also, we attach people and experiences to the songs which is another aspect of why this particular song (which I am familiar with and it is powerful and beautiful and sad) evokes such a strong feeling of sadness for you. It is attached to the memory of your father. Most songs for me go through phases. There have been songs in my life that use to make me cry when I would think about a particular person or break up - "almost lover" by A Fine Frenzy is an example but currently as I'm in a good place in my life and happy, I don't have a particular song that makes me cry per se, but I definitely am sensitive to lyrics and melodies and agree wholly that they illicit emotional responses.

I was also with my dad in his last days on earth. My other siblings couldn't be there for him so I on behalf of my nine siblings took care of him. I can still remember how my handset couldn't stop ringing, calls from my siblings asking about my father's condition. He has since passed away. He left us six years ago but my handset ringtone always bring him back fresh in my memory. I remembered my father liked the melody of the ringtone so up until now I have not changed the ringtone.
