How many times have you given up on mylot, and then found yourself here again?

I have been a member over three years. I have had payout once. It was a lot of effort to even get there. After that, I would get up to three or four dollars, uploading pictures, adding to discussions and so on, and then... something would happen and I would not come back for several months, and of course, the money would be gone, just like they had stated for inactivity. Once though, I was only gone for about three months (I know because of the date on my most recent reply) and the two plus dollars I had was gone. Everytime I would get discouraged, and then, somehow I would come back to try again. This has happened at least three times, possibly more. Though I have probably only "lost" ten dollars or so. Today, my first day back again, I see it has lost some popularity. I am unsure if rates and rules have changed. How many times have you lost interest, only to return, to mylot?

I have not lost any earnings mades in mylot. that means I log in without making it a gap of 90 days. nowadays i log in every day or my computer logs me in--I post one or two responses so that I mark my attendance. That spirit of making it to--- is lacking because I am otherwise busily working in chennai as faculty/writer.
Yesterday I was in an institute discussing about BEC training program to be imparted to engg college students. I enjoyed it.

By the way, welcome to mylot! I hope you enjoy your stay.

I suppose sometimes, it just didn't add up in my mind to be worth it. For a long time, I had a lot of other things online that made much more than the time I would spend here replying to things but never really making a connection to anyone. Then the rating wars. I was tired of worrying about getting lower ratings and having to avoid discussions because of how they would turn out. Then the few people I brought here were disinterested or worse. I guess when I had to plan things, mylot often got cut out, then, forgotten.

I did get upset a couple of times as those that I thought were my friends hurt me. But weighing the pros and cons of being here or leaving, the pros far outweighed and so here I am and I won't leave in a hurry!

Some of the people I talked to a lot left. There were only a couple of people I actually brought here, and none of them were interested enough to stay active. Perhaps that is what made it so easy to stay away.

A nice bonus that everytime I return, we site is still the same, and seems to have the same flow even, unlike a lot of other sites that seem to change month by month.

I haven't 'given up' on myLot ever. I did have a different account here once, but, I didn't intentionally leave. Life just didn't allow me to stay.
I"ll never give up on it though because I love it here.

A few of the times.. it was life. Moving a few times, a new baby... Though looking around, I remember one of the reasons I did not return, though, luckily, some of it has been removed. I used to really enjoy it here... I am hoping I will find a place again.

Yeah, I can see it being a fun place. I just have to figure out what I can post to appease whomever it is that keeps reporting my discussions. Most of the people who I have seen post probably were not here before. So, I am not sure what I did this time. I am sure eventually, just doing a few replies here and there, maybe I will find my place.

It is always good to try to come back here in myLot. Even if you're busy a little while each day will eventually add up and it is one site most people tend to enjoy using.

I did leave Mylot for several years, but this was a case of gradually drifting away and not actually giving up on Mylot. I returned a couple of months back and have become quite involved again and fairly active.
I was paid several times during my initial period here and never actually lost interest. I seem to have become busy with other things such as my job etcetera and seemed to totally forget that Mylot existed.

It is easy to get involved in other things. A month away turns into a few, and then a few more. I am really bad about leaving little pieces of me on sites. Getting involved somewhere, then distracted elsewhere and then forget all about it. One of my email addresses was still getting the mylot digest and luckily, I remembered the password set I was using at that time. That is awesome that you have stayed active for so long even with other things going on in your life.

A lot of times, yes i have decided that it will be my last time in mylot but would turn out that i would just come here again and participate time and again. It sure is something that i cannot say that i would be here for the last time... to be honest, a lot of times when i come here to scout alone, i would find myself just logging in because i am dying or itching to reply to the discussions i have seen in mylot.

I felt the same way, at one time. I would read something, and felt I just had to reply. Now, I suppose it is other social media that I do that on... easier with phone apps, plus here... if it gets political the rating thing gets crazy. I am hoping it is not like that anymore. I still get the email, just had not even looked at them in a long while. I was cleaning out my email and noticed one that said someone actually responded to a discussion I started years ago.

When I return to a site, it seems like I can become obsessed with replies and such. Sometimes, I will not allow myself to look until the next day, so that I do not get pulled into replying, or obsessing about what it will be when I go to write one. It can be so addictive!

I have left one time a few years ago. I let people bother me and decided to leave. I was gone for a year, came back, made this account and I would never leave again! I missed being here way too much for me to leave again. Maybe take a break if I need to but never leave...

I do enjoy that someone will always respond. I let people bother me, and tried to make it about the earnings, which, are not a lot. But if you come here for the community first, the pennies are a bonus.

It is a hard thing to do, though. I know people always judge others, but when it gets to the point of people rating you low or reporting your discussions and you have no idea why, it can be really frustrating. At times, not worth it. It started again, and this time, I never gave an opinion on anything but my favorite album in 2012. I just read a discussion where people were talking about reporting topics for a lot of random reasons, including being bored of the topic. If this was a community where people are encouraged to discuss things, it kind of takes the interest out of it when you have to worry about what to write about.

I haven't ever given up on mylot in the last 3 years since I've started here. I don't know why anyone would really give up on it unless they have a really good job and don't have the time to come on here any more.

When I started, I worked from home, and I often came here in spare moments I had. Then, we started working out of the home. I usually just didn't feel like sitting at the computer, especially whenever I was able to jump on other sites from an app on my phone. Then, I was at home again, but became busy with a baby and some other things... and mylot just didn't cross my mind again.

I've been on here for almost 3 years now. I have been a stay at home mom for just as long been a mama for almost 2 years now. I take care of both of my babies and do mylot and couple of other sites to make money from home.
It is hard to find time to do mylot with two little ones but I always find time either when they are sleeping or busy playing and don't need mommy.

Hi friend, good to know about your mylot activity. Sad to know that you lost some money due to inactivity. This is my second account in mylot. I lost my previous account due to some reasons, after that i created this account. I am not interested in leaving this great site.

I have left here and there, and come back, amazed that I still remember the log in and such. I stopped coming as much after I reached the first payout. I am always amazed and glad this place is still here when I return. There have been so many places I really enjoyed that disappear.

I was here for only a month but not very much active like the other newbies. Some of the newbies have already passed me in terms of numbers. But I don't want to hurry up much because I don't want my excitement for this site to die down so I'm taking it slow. The moments I get discouraged are the time when the the server is not working properly so I need to step out for the moment.

Hello vernaC, your approach makes a lot of sense because too many people tend to join Mylot and give too much attention to how many posts they can make. This would make the site a chore and detract from the more pleasurable aspects.
I always take time to find the type of discussion that appeals to me and prefer responding to a couple that I like rather than a lot irrespective of the subject. As long as you are enjoying the time here then you will gradually make progress and be less likely to become disillusioned.

It is frustrating whenever a site has problems. I know a lot of the people who started when I did are mostly gone now. There are a few here and there that stay, but it seems like some of the people who post in large amounts and then find the earnings are not as high as they thought they would be, they move on to the next place.

Hi UtopianIdealist, I step in the seventh year in Dec 2012. I never never think of to give up on mylot except once in the beginning of being new user here. That time my language was really poor and found difficulty in constructing sentences. I needed considerable time to complete a single post with few sentences. How frustrating that without the help of dictionaries and friends who are good in language I hardly could do my posting here. My persistence to improve my language defeated the quit finally Nowadays reading and typing posts here has become one of my routine This is a great site that I would spend most of my leisure time here daily. Hope you find the great fun here and enjoy communicating with friends from all over the world and earn some pennies at the same time.
Have a nice day and Happy New Year Eve

Zero. I've never given up on mylot. I might take a break from mylotting, but I can never stay away for long. I love this place too much to just up and leave. It's my home on the web, so to speak. Mylot will never get rid of me!

My immediate response to your question is - zero. Ever since I came here, I am all about mylot. I have never left the site. When I was new to the site, I didn't have an internet connection at home. So, I was not able to access the site daily, though I tried doing it whenever I could. I had to depend on cyber cafe, pay for the time I used the service and that is how I kept track here. But it was difficult doing all this. I actually paid more than I earned from here. But ever since I got a net connection for my laptop at home, accessing mylot has got even easier. I now enjoy my time here and getting a lot of new things to learn as well as solve some problems too.
But I am really sorry to hear that you have lost some bucks here. I think you have to be active here, or at least log in to keep your account active with the money you earned. But I am surprised your rating is still 10!

At one time, I did post a lot. I don't really argue much. I used to write really thought out replies. Perhaps that is what keep my rating alright. There have been many who look to start fights with others.

I never. Although I had a hard start starting because of lack of knowledge and nobody to ask information about. I tried to research everything. I don't know really, I am not that kind of person asking how to do this and that. Everything was okay after that struggle and until now, I am still here. I just love this place. Nothing else.
Happy new Year. Welcome back!

Thank you for the welcome back! I can see getting really used to it and staying. I guess there had just been some bad experiences here and there, that I forgot about until today. I think most of the people I talked to most here are gone now. Maybe I will meet some new people. Or, will just keep making responses regardless. Have a great new year!
